426 stroker dropped in scamp

Wow...you listed Jpar...and left me out....dam...sometimes i dont like you and now is one of them....lol

LOL...sorry about that. There are so many guys here who add to the forum it’s damn hard to think of all of them.

I’m sure I missed a ton more.

I will correct that pronto.

I figure...... rather the get my feathers all ruffled up over a few posts...... I’ll just wait and see how it unfolds and where it goes.

Frankly, I have no problem with the OP not wanting to share every detail of his combo.

So do I. Not every detail is asked for, just a little something something to at least lead me to believe he’s not bullshitting me.

And I think we can both agree 650 HP on a stock block is a pipe dream, unless you are a 3 run wonder.

650 HP at 8000 plus on a stock block is comical at best. That just will NOT happen.

You’d need huge bearing clearances because the block will flex like it’s made of cheese, you’d be lucky to keep head gaskets in it because the decks are so thin, and at best, ring seal would be barely acceptable.

Those production blocks are just too damn flimsy to take that kind of abuse.

Of course, all of us who have done this kind of thing are stupid and unlearned because we broke stock junk.

I don’t know.
He said he’s using a T/A block, which have thicker main webs and can easily accept 4 bolt caps.

And then you have these guys making well over 650hp without killing the stock block:
LA Small-Block Kicking Some LS Butt on the Dyno

Yeah, I remember that build. Has it done anything off the dyno yet? Big difference making pulls on the dyno and loading the engine in the car.

The T/A block is good for what it was, but it’s not an X block which isn’t an R block by any stretch.

When I went to the X block it wasn’t because I wanted to spend the money. The T/A block was showing signs of head gasket distress, I had a hard time keeping the main line straight and round and the cylinder bores never sealed all that well.

The X block was a big improvement over the T/A and when I build the R block I’ll sonic test it like jack the bear and see what I get.

The filled pan rail is a big deal too.

I’m not saying it can’t be done, I saying it’s insane to try it because you can’t build, fix or tune for a block that doesn’t have the structure it needs.

T/A block bored to 4.120”? At 8,000 rpm?

Just jealous. I like Trump too-
Yep. .080 over. 4.00 stroke. It will be good for a few races. Big deal if it blows. I got nothing but time to do whatever...Already starting another. In house again lol. Enjoy-

You sure know how to make an entrance lol!, lets see some more videos and you may not want to disclose whats on the inside but more pics of the outside of the engine would be nice!.

Damn...I knew I’d crack under the pressure of remembering every name I wanted to.

My scattergun thinking process makes remembering names a real beeeeeeeeeooooootch. I forgot the old lady’s name last night. Still sleeping in the motorhome for that.

Ya might have to load up and head to Kansas to find out. lol and you could meet Dorothy while your there. lol

Always wanted to meet "the man behind the curtain"!
He's freshening up a motor and it's in the living room too lol. When it goes to dyno I will post a video. We will see what a built 340 ta stroker with all goodies puts out. Go or blow...No worries.

Just click your heels and you’ll be there...
Just follow the yellow brick road. It will lead to ks lol. Lots of extremely fast cars here in Midwest. Run what you brung drags yearly here in salina. Then we go to Hutchison and race on old privately owned airstrip. Farmtruck and Azn come every year. $100 car fee to owner of property. Bets welcome. Had an episode on St Outlaws there. Will post dyno numbers soon. Getting motor ready as we speak. Take care and hopefully you'll get to good ole ozland someday. Ks cars would empress you I'm positive. Enjoy your day-

Surely you own more than 1 video of the car screaming. If that was my cars I would have hundreds. How about a drivers perspective tach/windshield shot?

I do. Mine will get me in trouble though lol. We are pretty rowdy crowd here. Do tons of street racing. I'm going to show dyno video soon. Like I say it may only last a few good runs but that's racing to me. Blow em and rebuild em. I just push it to the red line and don't care or worry. We just go have fun and enjoy life here. Backwoods ks. I wouldn't change it for anything or anyone. Watch for more videos. I MAY post a few good ones but just leary of it. It is illegal to race on street. Take it easy and video coming soon-

You mind sharing what lifters you’re running in that engine? Seems good ones are hard to find these days.

I can’t think of the guys name but it’s like BMsomething and he has been very quick on some stuff most guys couldn’t get into the 12’s.

That’s a small sample of the guys hanging out here. Everyone has some experience in one area or another and puts their opinions and experiences out there for the benefit of all.

Maybe you should rethink your position.

Or not.

Edit:
lead69
fishmens67
