My buddy had a '72 GT in blue. 302 and 3 on the floor.
I chanced upon a T&C Top Loader and shifter for next to nothing for the Comet.
Easy swap.
We went out to the illicit street activities one evening.
Greg launched the Comet, made the first to second shift and the shifter came off in his hand .
Those MoFoCo shifters were made with tubing.
The weld broke at the bottom and off it came.
He drove the Comet home with a long phillips screwdriver carefully inserted into what was left of the shifter mechanism.

Ray those numbers you've been running for me I found a convertible top switch 2820408.
Thinking about it though, if you find one let me know.
This was the first one I've seen in three years.

Wow its been that long? I remember when you were first looking for one.
Funny about those they never show up for sale. Anyone I talk to that with a 67-69 convertible I'll ask if they have one. Finally found one.

Now those ARE almost impossible to find and very pricey $1700-2200 restored.
Unrestored $700 average, $400 for restoration.
