I am wondering what Carburetors you guys like? I’m running an edlebrock avs2 right now and I like it but I’m wondering if it’s too small for my 360 with an edlebrock top end package. Probably just needs some more tuning.

You like to **** around with them or not? If you do then holley its where its at. Ive learned to like the holleys more these days but a good edelbrock 750 will do the job if you dont like messing around.

Lets see...brand new Holley 750 DP....or a Thermoflush that has not been made in almost 40 yrs...LOL.....

AVS2 what ?

Install a vacuum gauge and see what it reads on a full throttle run to see if there's room for gain.

The TQ hasn't been made in nearly 40 years but there are still new ones out there. I have 5 NOS early ones. I used 1 of the new ones on my Polara in my avatar on the 440. It works flawlessly, always starts, and NO vapor lock. And -NO I didn't have to rebuild it. I installed directly out of the Carter box, adjusted a little bit and I haven't touched it in 10,000 miles.

Any carb can be rebuilt. TQ will give better power and mpg especially with an auto trans. I would not have a "fix it constantly Holley" on a street car. LOL

Well....we need to know your engine specs and how you are using your car?
If it's a warm 360 and you only drive it on the street it's pretty hard to beat
600 Edelbrock!

I think there's a lot to be said for the Holley Street Demon. It's relatively inexpensive and works very much like an Edelbrock with probably a little better throttle response and probably a little better acceleration..

What about the new Demon carbs? They look like a TQ, and can even get resin bowl as well.

It has a lot of features of the TQ, but it is the standard Carter/Holley bore pattern. It even uses standard TQ floats, so you can pitch the plastic ones and use brass floats.
