honestly i have everything for the engine, other than if I change intakes. I’ve just been sidetracked with another car/engine (dads). It may be my winter project. Here’s a pic of the heads. Sorry if I’m muddling up your post. I can delete them if you want.

Mine too is a winter project, that is what this Dart project started out as, a multi-year winter time project. Once I decided to raise the rear wheel wells and done, then the hemi notion came along and here we are..lol.
No worries, glad that you shared your work, nice to see.
Going with the slightly smaller bore, the steam holes in the edelbrock heads must just miss the edge of the liner. The Barton cross ram sure is a pretty piece hey. Pricey too.

On a very conservative flow bench the Eddies flowed 430 intake and 277 exhaust. 11.1 CR, Crane solid roller, .699 intake / .710 exhaust. 262int & 276exh @ .050.
Barton 4500 intake with 1250 Dominator.

I made 1.5 per cube on a small bore 4.31 with those heads and a really mild solid roller which is 858 on 572 cubes... should be pretty easily done.

No, just stock aluminum mopar heads. Builder said for a street motor they would work great. Not so much for a track car.
 
I should also mention that motor had an original magnesium mopar cross ram that supposedly came from a LO23 car. Builder said a good single 4 carb and manifold would produce better numbers but motor was built for a clone hemi dart thus the crossram.

Savoy your 572 is a nice package. I can see a crossram on this 572 too, I’m just not starting off with one, didn’t want to leave hp on the table so to speak. An acquaintance has a 572 in his Dart. Stock Indy 426 heads with the raised port. 13.5 Cr. Mild roller cam. Made 854hp with a 1050. Changed to a 1250 and made 886hp. He said that the 1050 ran better at low rpm. We’ll see how that compares to mine. Not sure how much less hp the crossram would be, Ive read it’s a quite a bit.

curious which cross ram he had?
 
If your referring to my 572 it had original early mopar magnesium piece that the 65-68 race hemi motors used. Rather rare piece. Not to be confused with the later Mopar crossram manifolds that were carried by the parts department. Two different animals.
 
Tentative Dyno date is tomorrow PM. Hoping for some good pulls and no issues.

sweet, ought to be a stump puller. Will your try different intake / carb combos, or just looking to see how healthy it is?

Can't remember...what does the additional height on the intake do for it?

Will run it in. Make sure all is good. Find what it likes for timing and valve settings. Just running the Barton intake and 1250, maybe try the 1050. All pulls will be on 91 octane.

A good day. The 572 Pump gas Hemi purred like a kitten.

Ill have to re-read what cam and compression you are running. How bad do you think an intake that would fit under the hood hurt the numbers??....there appears to be plenty to spare.

I’m running 11.1CR. The cam is a Crane Solid Roller. 699 Intake, 712 Exhaust for lift and 262 /277 duration @.050.

This will fit under the hemi scoop. Will build an air filter base to fit and do my best for air filter. At the track I can remove the air filter.

For one pull we bolted on a 1” super sucker and lost HP. The best power was with the 1/2” 4 hole spacer. The 572 sure liked the 1250. It was a good day and those hemi’s sure sound good up high.

Thanks, it worked out well. I didn’t get crazy at all with the porting, just as per the Barton article. And spent time in the intake as well.

Got a new 572 (leftover) with 11-1CR....looks like a cam swap is in the future. Curious , why the solid roller vs hydraulic. is it because of the KB block used?

I actually never considered running a hydraulic roller at all.
 
Great numbers. That torque curve is amazing. More like a flat line.
