I’m giving my instrument cluster resto a go myself
Disassembled and paint removed back to bare plastic ready for painting I will keep posting my progress as I go
Is there any chrome on the cluster?
Will you try to re-chrome?Lord Sparky yes it removes the chrome
Yeah mate I am not going to have it done as per the original process but will spray it and mask up and spray the black. Will you try to re-chrome?
You will have to remove all lensesI'll be watching this may be my next project.
Do you know how the caustic soda reacts to clear plastic or plastic lens!?! I want to do this to my gauge cluster as well as my Radio cover and it has a lens
The spray chrome sucks. Never hardens—can’t touch without dulling it. After messing with respraying for weeks, I finally bought a new chromed piece. If you can live with metallic, use that.Yeah mate I am not going to have it done as per the original process but will spray it and mask up and spray the black.
I will see how it goes. Had a mate mdo his the same way and it turn out pretty good because you are spraying onto clean plastic
