Look on YouTube to see how it is done.

Looks repairable

There's probably a couple threads here about welding cast iron, lol.

That’s disappointing.

Those are the expensive 340 manifolds too! How did it crack after the auction ended but before shipping? What was the price? If it was for a great deal, then fixing them might not be too much of a bummer but, if you paid near full pull on them, then fixing them would be a bummer.

Find the cost of repairs then ask the seller to pay or else get all your money back. But remember, you'll have to get the sealing surface machined dead flat after welding unless you have some really good filing skills??

yeah it said no cracks in the auction.

but now seeing in person and knowing where the crack is it can be seen in the auction picture. i blew it up and put a red arrow on the picture above. from the pictures on the auction you cant differentiate dirt from spider webs from cracks. all i know is it said no cracks and that was the selling point to me.

i wouldnt have a clue who to take them to. a welder a machine shop or a fab shop or a motor machine shop or all of those places. who has the skills to do it. not me for sure. what would the cost be for the repair?

no reply from the seller yet after all day either

Wow they shipped those fast!

I bided on those as well... and you are correct.

They were advertised as having no cracks.

I’m like the other guys... I’d contact them and asked for a full refund or the difference back in cost to repair!!!

They were full of ****. They were cracked and they knew it. Get your money back. There are more manifolds out there.

this is the way they were packaged. but its a mute point since they were cracked from the get go.

Send him a message that if you haven’t heard from him by Monday, your going to file a dispute with PP. just cause he hasn’t answered doesn’t mean he hasn’t read your message.

AND get them to drop the price to a repaired set. Consider your time doing the leg work. Gonna get tricky. I vote refund. In my experience, no one will guarantee a fix on cast iron, either.

Jackwagon all the way around to seller. As soon as you see the effort put into "packaging", you know you're being screwed. Print the listing/details asap with "no cracks " listed. May help with the refund.
Good luck

yeah from what i read, fixing cast iron is a 50/50 crapshoot. and torqueing a bolt right at the crack is not gonna be nice to a repair

as far as i can tell the R one is good. i knew about the bolts plugging the flapper holes before i bought them. theres only one way to find out for sure though. firing up the motor with full exhaust

I wouldn’t install them if you’re gonna and try get your money back!

They’ll blame you for cracking them!!!

I was thinking on how the passenger side front section likes to break off easy ...and that op been better off that happening then it breaking right at a clamping point.

Just file dispute, find another and move on.

My grandfather repaired cast iron all the time when I was young. People would bring him specialty parts from all over the state but like a lot of other things it's becoming a lost art. I believe that part could be brazed by a qualified person with no future problems. Find an old timer that knows this stuff he would probably fix that for you for next to nothing.

i would drive 250 miles to find that person

just got this message from the seller. seems to be a stand up guy.

I am terribly sorry. It's obvious that iI did not see the crack when I listed them, as my picture is showing the crack and almost 20 yrs /100% with ebay would attest. Again, I am sorry for delaying your project. Would you like to return them both for a full refund ? Or would you be interested (if I have one ) in returning just the one and I send a replacement ?

Get a refund and buy the New repops on Ebay. <$600. Well, reading the late post I may ask for a replacement side if he has one. Save your shipping cost.
