Stop in for a cup of coffee

Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future.

This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as 'plucking the yew' (or 'pluck yew'). Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew!

Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as 'giving the bird.'

And yew thought yew knew every plucking thing.

Hey Tim, I'm sure you know all about VPN's . Do you think they are necessary ? AS you know I travel a lot....
Virtual Private Network, allows you to create a secure connection to another network over the Internet. ... VPNs essentially forward all your network traffic to the network, which is where the benefits – like accessing local network resources remotely and bypassing Internet censorship.
It's all very temechmikal but, if you're not transmitting sensitive data, "hiding" or in need of specific info found only on a specific server.. you really don't.
https://www.howtogeek.com/133680/ht... all your,Internet censorship – all come from.

By the time us west coasters get here, all the east'ers are long gone......

You ain't East. I don't care what time zone you are in.
Holy smokes  Knockin' on the 120° door out there in the desert for the next week more or less
Highs i low 80's all week here. Grass is growing again. Finally finished cutting yesterday from when I started Sunday. Looks like it's back to near once a week instead of wait a month or more like the last 2 times.
We have that problem from time to time on the farm. That’s why we have a trained German Shepard now...
I remember when most junk yards had them...
Good Morning

OK. Dealing with the approaching end to my 14 yr old Shepherd. She got bad hips and recently had a front ankle swell up bad. Can hardly walk on it. Vet this morning said try a steroid for 10 days and see if it gets her walking again.. Else it's time to go nite-nite..

That sucks... We had one that was Dobi/Shepard mix. She did great till near 15. Then it was just like her back end muscle/joints went to crap within a very short time. Could barely stand up, let alone do a few steps. :(
At that age you cant do much with the hips . As long as her back end will still support her, hopefully the ankle will improve and can keep her mobile and not in pain for a while...

Well I am back in Fargo after our trip. You should all feel safer knowing that in the event one of you or your children or even an infant are being choked by a snake, while being bitten by a scorpion attempting to get your last breath of air in the water as a result of being stung by a bee and going into shock all while having a sucking chest wound from a garden accident gone awry needing to teach your neighbor how to do CPR and AED to save ya, I can fix you up. My medical certifications are all up to date. I hate the renewal process but it is important. If ya teach folks how to hurt others ya darn sure better be able to patch em up. Holy smokes you boys and one girl have tossed up forty pages while I was unplugged. Next stop Iowa!

Or is it if all of those things happen to me, I will give you a call at once...

After the heavy rain, a little water in basement due to another plugged downspout.
When they did the new gutters, they ran screws in the wrong way,and the screws grab the debris. Its about time i fixed them. Maybe a good side cutter and clip the screws.
