Just want to give a heads up not to deal with Joshua Wood. Beginning of last month my son decided to purchase a set of big block eddy heads and this thief scammed him out of 1265.00 and no heads. This all happened on Facebook Mopar Engines Group. A few days later my son was contacted by another member on there and told him he was scammed same day for same heads. My son contacted him and he bullshitted his way thru the conversation. I will attach that conversation. I have been trying to notify any groups that I belong to just so this piece of **** does not scam anyone else. My son has contacted the attorney general in Illinois to pursue legal actions seeing what he did is considered FRAUD. I have to say I have been in the hobby over 30 years and never had any issues. I have dealt with multiple members here on forabodies and NEVER EVER had any issues. People like him ruin the trust in our hobby and I want him to not only pay for the fraud but for him to see when you **** someone over in the hobby no one will want anything to do with you.

Stop the payment!

.
He said he used paypal thru facebook and both said there is nothing they can do for him. It was an expensive lesson learned but will try and recover. What pisses me off about it is this guy comes out and says dont send money to a stranger. He sent him money with intent of receiving heads.

Sorry to read that. Paypal via credit card or use a credit card to make payments on this stuff. Always have backdoor recourse for these folks.

I got had many years ago on the same type of deal, still remember the MFers name... Same ol' excuses that get bounced around 15-20 years later.

I bet his name isn’t Joshua Wood. Out his PayPal address.

Sorry this happened to your son. :(

My brother got scammed a couple of years ago, replied to an ad for a car, price was pretty good, he was on vacation and couldn't go to view it for a few days, but sent a $500.00 deposit, never heard from the seller again, ad was deleted, you know the rest.

Well, if were throwing out old names of guys you got burned by and the name is burned into the part of the brain that deals with money...Don Joslin. That f*ck bought a Predator carb off me for $100 like 15 years ago. I sent the carb, he never sent the money. I emailed him asking if he received the carb (yes) and if he was going to send the money, yes. No mail.... then called him at his house after looking up his phone number. His daughter or wife answered and asked who it was, I said it was Steve, the guy with the carb and in the background I hear a "tell him I'm not home". Never heard from him again. He was a B-body guy on Moparchat at the time. Get the names out, it makes you feel better and may shake a few cages, and more importantly save someones dough.

Wife has been fighting with PayPal over an item that was broken on arrival. Ebay has agreed to refund the charges, but PayPal is refusing to refund her credit card.

If you used a credit card through pay pal...most if not all credit cards have a warranty/guarantee on all items purchased.

That is my goal. We are pursuing the legal route but these assholes that do this also need to pay so that nobody will want to deal with them. It would be easy for me to not say anything but I don't want this prick to **** anyone else over.

He paid thru Pay Pal? Why does he not have buyer protection? Did he send it as friends and family?
From what my son said that is only way facebook will do it. Believe me if he would of mentioned it to me I would of told him to tell him to shove the heads up his ***. Seller said he couldn't access his PayPal.

Ebay will say you paid through paypal, get it from them as we dont deal in money. Paypal will tell you its not covered or some other BULLSHIT. That's right I said it. They came to bat for me once in 15 years, and just recently too. Took them 35 days but they refunded me 100% of a item not received. Why it took that long, I dont know.

I would call your credit card company and claim fraudulent purchase, don't go into detail, just tell them you didn't authorize the charge.

Do you have a location on the scammer? If so, use Google to try & get an address on him. Once you have all of your information, contact the Fraud Division of the police department in his city & start proceedings against him for fraud.

My son does have his address and he is contacting his local police today.

yes paypal is not worth a flip on getting refunds. i was denied a refund from paypal but i paid through a credit card through paypal and the credit card company thought otherwise and i finally got my money back after 6 months. it was a very substancial amount.

one word of advice too dont EVER pay using friends and family !

99% of all my transactions thru PayPal are "fnf". And I've had 100's of transactions.
Be smart and a good judge of character.

i guess i cant grasp the concept of goods and services being paid through friends and family. if i am buying an item is the person i am buying from really my friend? wouldn't i be just giving the money as a gift and not expect to receive an item i purchased? i always send an invoice with a description of what i am selling so i am liable for a customer receiving what they purchased. i am not worried about the 4% PayPal fee. its a cost of doing business in my eyes. i am not good at judging character from text on a screen. could be some guy in Botswana collecting money for all i know. repeat purchases from the same person could be a different story though.

Man I'm sorry this happened to your son that really sucks. It always sucks when you get burnt but that's not like 50 bucks or something like that! That's 1200 DOLLARS!! HOLY CRAP!!! I couldn't imagine I feel horrible for your kid! That's like a months worth of work. I hope it's a big misunderstanding and the guy did ship them but I doubt it. Freaking scum these days.
