I like an occasional coke. I know, they are not good for me. I hate the taste of the artificial sweetened ones, and the "sugar" ones are "way too much."

So I've been buying a zero and a regular and mixing them 1:1

The other night I did 3 of them: 1 part sugar to 2 parts zero. Damn thing does not taste too bad.

I swap the colored caps around so I can tell they've been "screwed" with LOL

I prefer RC. I totally weaned myself off all soft drinks not too long ago....but I just find it too difficult. I don't drink near as much as I did, but I do still have an occasional one.

Actually Rusty, doesn't matter, RC, Dr Pepper, coke, I like others too, It's the sugar and it's the artificial sweetener. Either are too far extreme. Most of the time I drink less than one a week. Here, sitting around, it's "harder" LOL

Did you know that artificial sweeteners are almost as bad or worse for you than the real sugar??? Just eat some watermelon.

I have mixed regular, diet, and cherry Coke and Pepsi for years now. Half as much sugar, half as much artificial sweetener, and all the taste. Add a shot of whiskey and it's even better.

Now Whiskey is OK when it comes to sugars. Alcohol contains "alcohol sugars". The human body has a very hard time processing alcohol sugars so these sugars pretty much pass right through the body (after cruising through the brain of course..LOL). Just try and buy pure whiskeys (hard liquors), no Apple Crown an stuff like that because these have added sugars. Most clear alcohols (Tequilla, Gin, Rum, Vodka, regular crown) are just fine.

Treblig - The Science Guy:poke::lol:

We buy Pepsi with REAL SUGAR clearly printed on the cans. The taste is much better to me.
Original formula "Throwback" Mountain Dew....Ahhh! It tastes like 1977 again.

We're all gonna DIE!!!
County Joe and the Fish beat you to it!!

And it's one, two, three,
What are we fighting for ?
Don't ask me, I don't give a damn,
Next stop is Vietnam;
And it's five, six, seven,
Open up the pearly gates,
Well there ain't no time to wonder why,
Whoopee! we're all gonna die.

Before I retired, I had a serious soda habit. Since I retired, I've cut myself down to 2 10 ounce sodas a week. Since I cut all of the sugar, I feel better, food tastes better, & my acid reflux has diminished to almost nothing. Had I known this 20 years ago, I would have never let the habit take over.

I drink a lot of ice tea. I uses sugar or brown sugar, and just try and "keep it down."

When I was young I drank a lot of milk. When I got to Navy electronics tech "A" school at Treasure Island, San Francisco, they gave us all kinds of lectures, on liberty, forbidden places, and "other things." One lecture made it sound like milk was bad for us. "We are old enough" we don't need the calcium and bla bla bla. The water in SF tasted like ****. I raised my hand and asked, "Is SF water supposed to be better for us?" He did not have an answer.

Actually, the Navy, in a way did cure me from drinking milk. The "cows" in the chow hall were never cold enough. I hate warm milk. When I ended up at NAS Miramar, spring of '70, it turns out they had the worst chow hall of any place I'd been. As soon as I was "rated" I got "commuted rats" and ate elsewhere most of the time.

I pretty much quit all soft drinks several years ago, I will have one or two a year, and the odd slurpee on a hot summer day, but that's all. I can't bear the thought of ruining good whiskey by adding anything other than ice.

Better whiskey doesn't even need ice. Lol

I've been slurping mega Pepsi for years. But recently switched to Coke-original.
My tummy doesn't really complain until 3 or 4 of them on an empty stomach. I often have 3 a day, sometimes more,meh, usually more occasionally less lol. Lemmee put it this way; a 24 does not usually last a week.
But before you freak out, I also, in the same week consume; 1USg each of; unsweetened-OJ, 3% milk, 1% chocolate milk, Plus up to 2 quarts of original-recipe V8, and up to 8 quarts of Distilled water. No wine, beer, or alchoholic beverages of any kind. I got baptized in 94 and after that I couldn't get a buzz on anymore, so... been der/done dat. No I don't drink tap-water; that stuff will kill you......... lol.
As will Aspartame, the artificial sweetener that tricks your brain into thinking you are eating something sweet, while poisoning you, just like; NutraSweet, saccharin, sugar-twin, and Steevia or whatever it's called . Well some of those IDK which ones, are "approved",lol, for human consumption. yeahright .
One would think, that with all that sugar coursing thru my veins, I should be a raging diabetic; especially since it runs in my dead Mum's family, for at least as far back as anyone can remember.
But I kid you not; I have no symptoms. Yet it killed my Mum, all her two sisters, her Dad, and her one remaining brother, my Uncle, controls it with diet. He is 13 years my senior. And many of Grandpas brother's families had it too. I mean it was serious business amongst them.
I just finished a Coke a few minutes ago. Now I'm going out to the Shop to dink around, but I'll grab another on the way,lol. I am 67
Drink up Del! Cheers

Diabetes is known as the "Silent Killer" because for the most part there are no symptoms until you go to the Doctor one day and he tells you that he has to amputate your foot.
