We were at the gun store the other day and Kitty saw this.

S333 Thunderstruck™

She wants one. Shoots 2 rounds of .22 Winchester Magnum with each pull of the trigger. 8 round capacity. Any of yall have one? Kitty has little strength in her hands and has trouble with anything semi auto requiring having to pull a slide.
 
Haven't handled one myself, but I've got some close contacts who have. Apparently the trigger is mighty terrible. Stupidly heavy pull, vague break, lots of creep. Makes accurate shooting near impossible.
It's largely seen as a massive joke by many in the industry (on par with the judge revolver).

The Judge would have to be more accurate from what I've read so far. I've shot a Judge and with .45 rounds I can hit center mass good from 20 yards. But that's a LOT more recoil than Kitty can handle now.

Agree, the judge is a kicker. It's also not a very good pistol (just my humble opinion) but it's leaps and bounds better than this double shooting thing. Plus, the batfe has a reputation of changing their mind on what a "machine gun" is, so who knows if this thing will remain legal.

I would look at an LCR for a small, low recoil pistol. Small pocket autos are always a handful, even in .380. But the LCR is really only suited to .38, last I'd looked into it.

I can see my old lady fishing around in here shopping bag sized purse trying to pull that thing out of all the junk she carries , gaurrateed to go off before she would get it out , I dont like it at all !
 
FN five-seven. You could pull the slide to charge the first round for her. It holds 20.
 
Just bought my wife a S&W M&P Shield EZ in .380 ACP. She wanted something to conceal and couldn’t pull the slide back on a couple of .40's and 9mm's I have access to, but can handle the EZ quite well. I wasn't too fond of the robin egg blue color, but she likes it! Happy wife, happy life, right? My brother-in-law said it was "cute". I said, "Ya, it's cute until that hollow point rips a big hole through your mid section!!!!

My Wife has a comforter she keeps close when I go out of town.
Sawed off 16ga.
Mostly an “answer the door” or a break in solver.
Not a handgun obviously, but it has a fairly low kick and you don’t have to be a good shot.:D
Maybe something in the 22 mag would work for Kitty?

I have the obligatory "southern gentleman" J.C. Higgins 12ga double barrel. It's a 1940s model. She kinda wanted something that'd fit in her purse. lol

:D That’s why I suggested the 22mag.
Still lethal as hell, but not a lot of kick.
 
For my girl I wanted complete simplicity and reliability. As well as small, easy to handle and low kick. Ruger sp101 fit the bill and she likes it in .38. I shoot it with 357 mag. It’s a nice little revolver.

My everyday carry is a NAA .22 Mag 5 shot revolver. Even with a 1 5/8" barrel, it's more accurate than you might think. It'll blast hell out of a pumpkin.
 
WoW! Demolition Ranch did a review of this little gat. It looks like fun but between the lack of a trigger guard and firing two at a time I don't see it be viable for a personal security option (potential legal liability issued). I'd actually recommend one of the many fine compact 5-shot revolvers out there instead.

Still, that thing is outrageous, too bad 22 WMR is so darned expensive, too bad they don't make one in 22lr (not that its any MOAR easy to find these days).

That thing looks quirky and an accident waiting to happen, to me. I really don't like the looks of the ?? trigger guard!!?? And what is it really, "4" rounds? You say 8 but if fires 2 at a time, so 4 shots?

Or maybe Bobcat .22 or Tomcat .32. Tip up barrel, you can load the barrel easy and don't have to rack the slide. They are double action, so you only need to pull the trigger

Rob, here locally at least one of the target outfits rents some weapons to fire at the range. You might look into that.

One "might be a problem" with these is I don't know if you can dry-fire them. I have an older Jetfire 25 had for years. You can not dry fire it will break the pin

Last see if you can try out a Ruger LCR in .22LR it's 8 shot

My go to for concealed carry is a Ruger lcp 380.easy to rack and very light at 12oz,............jeff
 
Mrs. Big John has some issues with hand strength and she really likes her Ruger LC9. She looked at a lot of guns before she settled on this. It fit the bill for being light enough to carry, with the perfect size grip. but the recoil isn't bad.

This is why you don't mess with her. Shooting the LC9.
 
I would think a 9 would be "a bit much" for someone with hand strength issues. They do kick some....

I'm no expert, but I think because this gun fits her so well, the "kick" doesn't really bother her. You have to look at stopping power too. A .22 might eventually stop someone, but the 9mm, loaded with self defense rounds, is going be more effective.
 
A buddy has the Thunderstuck. 0/10, would not recommend.
 
Got The Walther P22 For my lady.

It is very easy to rack and fits her tiny hands perfectly.

I know you said no semi but if a store near you has one pick it up and play with it. (Its nice, just tell my buddys I said that.)
 
no way no how would i never buy a gun without a trigger guard

if she doesnt like the slide, there are plenty of other small revolvers that fit the bill
