I have heard the news reports about our wonderful governor, Gavin Newsom, proposing to outlaw the sale of new gasoline vehicles in my state. I would like to learn more about this, and quite possibly join and support any organization that will be fighting such a law. Can anybody provide any links to relevant websites or organizations? Thank you.

LOL... your state can't keep up with power usage now. Without gasoline engines, you better buy a good pair of sneakers 'cuz you'll be walk'n.

Just a fair warning, this thread will probably get moved to News and Politics soon. Just sayin'

318willrun, if anybody tries to make me stop driving my old Mopars, I would like them to meet my friend Betsy.

Lovin' your videos on youtube, 318wr!

yeah, it will leave without me. LOL.. I don't go to the N & P section. I come here to get away from that.... :D

The govn't did not outlaw steam engines and horse drawn buggies, as said on the topic over at FBBO. They will not outlaw gas engines either, but sooner or later, the electric engine will power auto and trucks. May be longer than the wizzards in Ca. think though.
Pollution? If the US emissions were ZERO< what about China!?? LOL

Let's keep this thread NON political please (I know, I know....lol), this is a subject of interest to everyone.

Thanks...................drive through. :steering:

Electric cars aren't an issue per se, some people love them. The problem is they are being sold as an environmental bonus which can be debated but it's more to groom people into getting used to the idea. The end goal is electric self driving cars so like China when we have "social credit scores" and someone posts something on social media that the powers that be do not like they can limit your travel. All controlled by satellite and programmed where you can only drive maybe a few miles from your house for necessities. Sound crazy? So does a Governor telling people it's safe to be on wet sand but not dry, or saying it's safe to have six people in your home but not seven.

Electric cars aren't an issue per se,

Yeh, they ARE an issue. They ARE promoted as "more green" which is NOT true. Waste batteries, and the entire chain of power from generation to distribution, to increased costs for recharging stations and the impact on other users of the power system.

Hi Bill. It's important to note that the executive order is NOT a law. It's simply a formalized goal signed by the governor - nothing more, nothing less. Judging by all of the conjecture and misinformation out there lately, not many have actually read the executive order. No one is coming after our old mopars.

If this is even remotely true, then we ALL better sit up and take notice, because everything starts in Kommiefornika.

Yup, I read the article too, sounds like bullshit I grew up right next to the 10 freeway I have no problems with breathing. I heard they can not get rid of hydrid battery’s they just get stacked up in a warehouse some where. The article says in 15 years they will stop selling gas vehicles, you can still buy them in other states and bring them here.

This whole thing sounds stupid as ****. Using the children as the reason. But yet we poison the children with flu shots and fast food.

That's true. O'Reilly has a really strict policy on handling hybrid batteries. They don't.

Hey, the voters elected these idiots. AS the old saying goes "be careful what you wish for, you might just get it".

When all the people start leaving Calif. in droves , we dont want them here , enough demoretard stupidity already !!

I would look into wether a proposal like this is even legal at the state level. Then file class action suit. Contact your state rep and ask. For example, under Persident Obama, I dont recall the name of the bill, but he passed an MPG law/restriction that basically made V-8's obsolete. It went something like "engine has to get a minimum of 26 miles per gallon etc" at some point a V-8 is only so efficient at MPG( usually around 18-22 MPG) this is why trucks started pushing big 6 cyliners and the For Mustang had or has their 300 HP V6 etc. V-8s in new cars are becoming rich man fodder...:) Here is an article, and , not trying to make this political, but politics is what is driving this. If you like your gasoline cars, worth a read. Trump administration rolls back Obama-era fuel efficiency standards

they are or will be expensive. the person that buys affordable used cars and keeps them running will be out of the picture because it will be a financial issue. Batteries on electric cars last maybe 5 years and are expensive to replace. I think we need a classic car enthisuast lobby in D.C. or do we already have one? There is a parts/resto business that needs supported etc.

Texas keeps finding more huge pools of crude and we will be driving gas powered cars for a quite a while!!!

Geologists estimate that the Bakken Deposit in the Dakotas has more reserves than the Saudis ever thought of having. The Ca Gov's declaration is not a law, merely a statement he would like to come to pass.

And the next governor can cancel his executive order.....or it will probably be challenged in the courts..
