Open up my 400 B block today...

It sure yet. I’m about to rotate the assembly to see where the slugs sit. I’d like to do a TF headed 470 mechanical 6 pack....

Why not a 512 mechanical six pack?

Ether will fry the tires really well.
:steering:
Actually a 400/6bbl. doesn’t sound to bad. The whole low deck short stroke family acts like a big 340. A really big 340...... but I’m building a small block 6 pack now...

LOL...I thought you were catching UP on projects, not starting new ones. I’m so far behind I can’t see the 8 ball.

Wellllll, I don’t know! Why not a 512?!?!
Then again, why not a .030-400/6 pack mechanical?
Or a 451?!?!
Go 470 with 6.70 rods 1.320 pistons, just copy Andy's build. But any size would be sweet.

Just got delt a set back... UGH!

The Duster this 400 resides in (not much longer though) is waiting for the 340 (other thread) which is a torque converter and driveshaft away. I’m also waiting on a spring relocation kit to arrive. I have miles to go for an effective, responsive & SAFE ride. 4 wheel manual drums do me no warm fuzzy feelings at speed.

The 340 will be a pacifier for now. A few track runs and back alley meets to beat up on a few other NA guys. As you seen, it’s not so HOT but it will provide some stress relief.

I only have the above pictured B block intake and carb set up as well as a M1 & race TQ for the B engine. It would be starting from scratch otherwise. I have plenty of small block stuff to play with and hence will go forth down that tunnel.

I’ll continue collecting B engine parts for later. When later occurs, later occurs. As it is now, I have to take a step backwards, re do an over site which will wait until spring.

This Duster was to be here at my house next year. It’s early arrival was my (1st of many) retirement projects. So I’m starting in on it early. I’ve been waiting a long time to dig into something that I can give teeth too. I’ll do it in baby steps.

That and I need a break from the other car before I go crazy.

I’m just a bit partial. Must be those 10 sec time slips the 512 provides in street trim driving to the track in a 4000# b body...:thankyou:
LOL, thanks for the morning smile and hell yea I can see that. If I can find my swap mount, this engine will probably see the Magnum. It’s a 727 small block now. I need to make some.... modifications to it’s rear end. The ISO rear suspension has been a PIA in this particular car.

While I was out enjoying some spirted driving, some things went south and broke other parts. Clearly a whoops!
