its hard to see in the pics, but the rotors are twisted and have a slight bow to them, and go from low to high to low down the length of the rotor, was told its hard to set up to machine them

Who's blower case is it? GMC never made an 8-71 blower...all those rotors come from 8V71's and the cases are all aftermarket.

Gary Dyer and his son are experts. I think Gary is retired. I sold those guys a half dozen 6-71 cases and rotors several years ago.

Another good shop is Dean's Blowers in WA. Rick Dean did the gas conversion on my 6-71 Hemi blower.

if i did take the od off the rotor, whats the worst that can happen...would it make them out of balance or what?View attachment 1715611736 View attachment 1715611737 that 3/8 wide strip is what they call the od its about .005 thick and was told by the blower guys to have it machined off.. would not hurt it at all.

The worst that could happen is you trash a good blower. The best that could happen is you loose all of the necessary clearance and turn it in to a big heat pump that makes no boost. They’re pretty simple machines, you could take it apart yourself and check everything. If not I suggest finding a different shop and getting a second opinion.

well i found a guy who knew just what to do...004 off the od should do it....he said that that od is 020 thick, good thing i did not try and do it.... lets hope it works when its done...
