An elderly lady handed her bank card to a bank cashier and said, “I would like to withdraw £10 please".The cashier told her, “For withdrawals less than £100 please use the ATM machine.”The elderly lady wanted to know why.The cashier returned her bank card and irritably told her, “These are the rules. Please leave if there is no other matter. There is a line of customers behind you.”The elderly lady remained silent for a few seconds, then handed the card back to the cashier and said, “I wish to withdraw all the money that I have in my account.”The cashier was astonished when she checked the account balance to see almost £500,000 in the account and said to the lady "the bank doesn't have that much cash currently. Could you make an appointment and come again tomorrow"?The elderly lady then asked how much she could withdraw immediately. The cashier told her up to £3,000."Well, please let me have £3,000 now", she said, and the cashier then handed it, very friendly and respectfully to her.The elderly lady then put £10 in her purse and asked the cashier to deposit £2,990 back into her account.THE MORAL OF THIS TALE;Don't be difficult with elderly people, they've spent a lifetime learning the skills.

The one I heard:

"Don't mess with old folks. They are already pretty annoyed just because they have gotten old, and it might not take much to push them right over the edge!!"

Some of my favorites....

I know what you mean like at work the boss starts going nuclear I just look over my glasses at him with that REALLY look and he calms right down because he knows I’ll walk and not come back. Great feeling to be in that position and I earned it

So why is this????????? People who worked and earned what they have getting a raw deal
Because it's run by the Government. Knowing lawyers today they'll sue for any reason at all. Scumbags every one of them and like they say Ambulance Chasers.
I'd love to be a judge in the courts. They'd be no bail and the sentences would be a lot stiffer only problem though they'd need bigger prisoner to hold these assholes so the taxpayer lands up paying. Of course they could always be put to work like the old days making license plates or roadwork or laundry for hospitals and not a luxury spa getting their three meals plus all the extras.

You can’t put them to work with out pay that’s slavery. Massive amounts of sarcasm in the last statement. But I agree with you. When prisons are better then the persons life what deterant are they. Never hear a politician talking about prison budgets EVER how bout slashing that down to bare bones or less. You earned the right to be in prison now enjoy the fruits of your labour

How do you know when a lawyer or politician is lying? His lips are moving. Tip of the day if he wears penny loafers he is not to be trusted until he earns it

As we grow old and start losing our health, ability to do the easiest things in life we use to enjoy. We hurt more, we need the medical care in life we paid for all through life but never used when young. But alas they tell us your in the “ doughnut hole” and now the medication that was covered last month and cost $47.50 is now $260.00. I live in pain all the time. Yeah tread lightly as you **** with me.

actually, maybe have a read of the 13th ammendment. prison labour is how the vast majority of woodland firefighting is done, and chances are good that any USA made clothing you buy was made by a prisoner. dont worry about the low pay. its not costing tax payers for the most part. usually its a cheap way for prison corporations to earn a profit.

I think it could be argued that prisoners could be required to work "to pay their way" as well

i am a strong opponent of imprisonment in general
it is not found on the list of punishments God approved of in the Bible, so i dont see the value in it

if you do insist on using a prison model to handle criminals, may i suggest the roman model?
there, the government only provided the prison and the chains
if a prisoner wanted anything else (food, clothing, medical care) the prisoner or his family had to provide it

it makes no sense that society as a whole should pay for this

I agree with you. However some bleeding heart......... I remember when I was a kid the prisoners working in the provincial park cutting grass, splitting wood. Building new camp sites. There was always 4 armed guards and up to 10 inmates. Haven’t saw that in years. Talked to some of my friends who work at the “rehabilitation correctional facility “ inmates now have gyms pool tables tv to occupy their time. What’s wrong with this picture.

Now ur talking

My theory on prisons:

You only need a fixed number of beds. It runs on the seniority system.

Somebody on death row dies everybody moves up. New people come in, everybody moves up.

If you are a repeat offender, you get your old place back in line, assuming they haven’t executed past your number yet.

Guaranteed to reduce crime and recidivism.

Everything... it's not a spa it supposed to be punishment for breaking the law.
