Anybody running a caltrac setup in the stock spring location?

How do you like them? Also are you running the stock shackles?
Yes very much. I have a ‘71 Duster Nhra stock eliminator car, I bought the correct shackles from Calvert when I bought the springs. Be careful when buying the springs, I bought the “0” height spring and had tire clearance issues. The +1” will give you all the clearance you need and a nice ride height. They work great, I’ve been 1.43 60’ best so far.

If Woodie doesn't mind post a few pictures of your car.

For that matter Woodie post a few pictures of your car too.

I picked up the springs from a classified site here. They are new and never installed. Not sure on the hight... but going to buy the Caltracs and shackles. My ride is a street thrasher with a solid roller iron headed 340 with 4.88s in the rear

I have a 73 Duster stocker in pieces but I have Comp slide-a-links for it. Have 8 3/4 with 4.88s or a dana 60 for it. Will probably go to the dana eventually.

It has a pair of 003 super stock Springs under it at the moment.

The slide a links ride better on the street.

Here’s a picture of my car with the Calvert 0 height springs.
Yellow rose is right, the caltracs are a rough ride around the pits. On the street they are going to be quite stiff.

Just put a set of 4:88 in the Dana and forget about it. I have an 8 3/4 and i just broke it.
I ran the 002 and 003 superstock springs for years, work great, but they wear out after a few hundred runs. Don’t run the slide a links with the SS springs. You don’t need anything, just some Calvert rear shocks and 4-6 deg. Negative pinion angle and take the clamps off the rear of the springs.

Couldn't one simply back all of the preload off the caltracs when driving them on the street? I'd think that would dramatically reduce the harshness.

Looks good, is that one of those Canadian 340 twisters. Like big foot and the lochness monster.
