I am in the process of building a 1968 Dart to SS/AH CHASSIS specs, I will not run this class but want to build the chassis close to the specs. I am building a 605 Hemi, Keith black aluminum block, 60mm raised camshaft. I am shooting to make upwards to 1000 to 1100 hp. I am trying to decide which Hemi head would work the best for my combo. I have seen the Indy legend IRA heads and the FHO (For Hemis Only) Stage V hemi heads. Indy's hemi IRA head is what was recommended to me for a heavier car, apparently it makes more torque than the IRA6 head they offer, they said the IRA6 head is more for a lighter car. FHO's Stage V big valve head is similar to Indy's IRA head, flows a little more CFM, then there is the Millenium 2000 head FHO offers, where I hear flows massive amounts of CFM. I don't want to over kill the engine with TOO big a head for what I want to do, but I also want a head that is going perform strong. I'd like to turn E.T.'s of 5.40's in the 1/8th, 8.50's in the quarter. any input or suggestions?

Thanks y'all!

Stage V heads...go Millennium.

I hear the Millenium head is a really good head. apparently you can dang near make as much power you want out of them based on camshaft and RPM's you run. I don't plan to run over 8000 RPMs. How do y'all feel about the Stage V rocker arms? I considered those or spending the big dollar for Jesel rockers.

I'd imagine the fully prepped stage V Millenium head from FHO is around 8k for just the heads.

I'm a dealer...just sayin. Rockers depends on what you plan is for lift, spring pressure and rpm.
Cam lift will prolly be upwards to .750 to .800, RPMs will prolly be shy of 8000. Maybe 7600 RPMs give or take

I got a set of these D5 heads which were the last of the expeimental stages back in the day. I think they are comparable to B2 heads today but hell, I don't really know a lot about the hemi yet. I was hoping to try and have someone cnc a new set for spares as these have been ported to the max. 2.39s in there. The exhaust have adapter plates on them. Dual plug holes. Like I said tho, I don't know a lot about them yet but they are old and supposed to have come off a dragster motor from Michigan. Im excited to figure it out.

Competition Series TQ's. NICE!!

You need to have oil feed holes in the bushings that will feed the lifters for pushrod oiling.
