This is the largest Mopar swap meet in the south
Florida Agriculture Center and Horse Park less than 2 miles north of the Garlits Museum at 11851 SW 16th AVE (County Hwy 475A). Take I-75 exit 341, go east a short distance to the light at Hwy 475A and go left about 1.7 miles to the entrance on the right).

Problem is Mopars with Big Daddy is the week end prior. A lot of people/vendors will have to pick one or the other, if they are not local. That will dilute the number of people at both shows. This used to be one combined show. I don't know what happened, but the powers that be need to resolve their differences, or both shows will have problems continuing.

Yes that will be a big problem. I'm not sure I'm going due to this virus...hopefully next year will not have the same problems going in. I'm hoping the Turkey Rod Run at Daytona will be on the other side of all this crap. (would be the first time I went and didn't have to jot down all the for sale phone numbers that I passed)

Will be interesting to see how it works out this year. I went to the Garlits meet for about 25 years. Up until the last two when FMA started this one at horse park. Been at that one last two years. Which is where I’m going this year if they let me bring my Polaris Ranger. I can’t walk very far. I do have the handicap placard. I wrote the but haven’t heard back to see if they will let me.

Is Florida on lockdown if driving from New York? I tried several times and never received an up to date answer.

Went to this show today - not worth the drive from Orlando - had to pay $10 to park ( even though free parking was advertised) little to no vendors or spectators - glad I did Big Danny show the week before

I went to both. Yes, Big Daddy was larger, but not by a whole bunch. If I wasn't local, I would say, "neither one was worth much travel".

Here's an overhead shot of Carlisle. I won't waste my time with either one in Ocala next year. Use my vacation and my money wisely. Going back to Carlisle next year.

On the upside it was good to see Roy. Nice chatting with you brother. @SGBARRACUDA
Yes it was great to talk to you and your son. Caught up with a bunch of different people I haven’t talk to to in a long time. Parts were very sparse and priced to the end user. Few deals to be had. Bought some shock plates and 340 exhaust manifolds. I can’t see two shows continuing in the future.

I drove from NY, 1100 miles and yes it was a little disappointing. But the problem for us up North nothing really till Carlisle next July. So i did get 2 things and enjoyed the 80* weather. Also saw the lower price of gas at $1.85 a gallon. Also would like to say the staff was very friendly and accommodating. Walking in a tee shirt I left about 11AM and stopped in VA for gas, I got out of car and nearly froze my butt cause now temp. was 37*. I should have checked temp. on dashboard before getting out, but I checked it after I put my coat on and got back in.

Right? You think it'd be easy to draw people to a car show in Florida in November.

Do any of you Florida guys know Marvin Hughes? He lives in Ocala and has been a Mopar guy forever. He is probably in his 80's now. He and his wife Jean are nice folks we used to see at a few shows in NC. Just wondering if anyone saw him at this show or Garlits….and how he's doing?

Name sounds familiar what type car or cars did he have?

It's been a long time since I've heard Marvin Hughes' name. Mopars in general and Hemis in particular come to mind. I hope he's still with us, but it has been a long time.

Roy....Marvin had quite a few wing cars back in the day. Last time I was at his house, he was building a 30 something Mopar with a early hemi. He's had a little bit of everything over the years.

Charrlie...I met Marvin and Jean when I used to work for John & Vicki McBryde at Mopars at The Rock, and Charlotte in the fall car shows. Marvin kept my Challenger conv at his house once, when I had to work in FL for the week....then I went and picked it up and went on to The Turkey Run the next week.

Went to the show on Saturday only. Came home on Sunday as it wasn't worth going back another day for me. I would guess half the cars and maybe 1/4 of the vendors that were there as of last year. 1st time for my dad so, a little disappointing for sure.

Wow. I couldn't go. I feel better now about not going. I hope one of these guys give in, and move their show. Everyone suffers from this crap.

Being separate by a week hurt both! My last visit in 2015 was much larger! And the years before.

Still enjoyed both shows and glad I came. What else was going on? Nothing!

And trying to compare to Carlisle is just silly. No comparison, even in the hey days!

Again, there's an all makes Carlisle even (2 actually) in Lakeland FL.

Not as big as pictured above but I've got some decent deals there.
Last year I bought a $375 Coats brand spin balancer and it has almost paid for it's self already!

...and usually you can get a ride in a vintage plane or helicopter if you want.
