Anybody here have experience with TSI or Trans Specialties converters? I have my eye on their 8". However, they are spragless. They claim it is so less stuff breaks meaning the sprag. I guess my main question is this a quality converter? I've heard of the name to be around for some time.

Have one of their spragless in my 8 second drag car best move I ever made after braking 2 sprags and ruining the tranny

I had seen and heard of TSI converters before. Just not much mention of them here on fabo. So wasn't sure if its a good move. Currently have an FTI 9.5" 3400-3600 stall converter with 3.91's out back. Motor is a 360 stock stroke and a 292/508 mopar cam. Works well but curious to know if an 8" trans specialties 5000-5400 stall will work ok. Car is not a race car just a fun street bruiser.

I don't recall when & where I learned this, but I was always under the impression that spragless converters were for very high horsepower applications.

Is the converter loose? Or tight? Could it be used for street driving?
It stalls to 5500 engine makes 860hp I've never driven it on the street. Call TSI and talk to them about your combination . I know thy can help you out and answer all your questions
