I got a 67 dart that came with a column steering and I want to convert it to a floor shift on my 727 instead so I was wondering can I keep the old column and just modify it to fit or do I have to get a whole new one? also what do I need to do? Im a noob and I'm doing all my work in my garage. Im gonna be using borg power steering.it has a 360 with 727 thank you

Yes sir, people have converted the column they have by getting the proper parts and making the conversion to a smooth column where the gear selector was an there have been some who've modified what they had by cutting that socket off and either welding in new metal or filling it in with fiberglass and body filler. Both methods seem to work equally well. There are threads about it if you want to do a search.

I don't care how it looks I just need it to work I'm not gonna take it off and paint it and fill the holes or anything I just need to know a simple way of going about floor **** conversion. Ive been looking but I can't find anything on how to take it apart because the tranny shift lever is hitting my headers thanks for the response by the way.

Something here might help... Steering column fix
Your 67 has the reverse lamp switch and wiring on the column. If you have a later model trans with a 3 post neutral safety switch you can extend those 2 wires through the firewall and down to that switch.

What do you have now, and what will you have when you're done? Converting from manual steering to power is one thing, converting from auto on the column to auto on the floor is another. What year 727? Some have the proper bosses for a factory floor shift, others do not. Then you have the backup light situation as RedFish mentioned.

There is a switch on your steering column with two wires. I know one is purple. The other may be black? I forget. You'll find it.
When the factory moved this switch down to the transmission, these wires were routed through unused ports of the bulkhead connector where all the wiper motor wires are. You should already have the brown wire from your starter relay to the middle post of the later model neutral safety switch. The two reverse wires are taped in with it and go to the other two posts of that switch, either wire on either post.

A 1980 vintage 727 would have come with a 3 wire neutral safety switch. The middle pin on the switch is for the neutral safety feature. the outer two pins are for your backup lights. Not knowing what modification have already been made, and how your car is wired at this point, you may have to do some wiring changes to get both of those features to work. If you're not concerned about appearance, you can do something as simple as removing the shift lever and cutting off the lower linkage lever in the engine compartment, to disassembling the column and changing over the auto/column parts, to floor shift parts (ie. shift collar, inner shift tube). I'm not sure what you need to do to go from Chrysler P/S to Borgeson P/S. Maybe nothing, maybe coupler, maybe you need to cut/weld the center shaft. Check with them on that.
