Late 70's -80s truck, no sensor.
Just to help eyeball it with the strobe.

Edit. The 11-2-78 318 core im using for the thread had one on it when disassembled. @pishta Fwiw what yr did they start and stop using it would be neat to know.

Actually those are for the timing probe on old style tune up machines. They all had those at some point. We had an old Sun Machine in school that had the "update package" on it that had the timing probe that fit in there. Cool stuff.

Ive known not one person or mechanic to ever use it. still a strobe
So this is a "Ripleys believe it or not" on me. :poke:Thanks. If there was a scale for where one started learning ..going from say... 1, stock ...to 10, hp race... id say i started at about a 3 and went up before learning more stock app detail specifics. If that makes any sense,great . :D

We never used it....but the one time we were shown how. LOL

I have another one here that is marked that it was removed from a 77 but sorry guys i don't have the build date from that motor
