Is anyone running these on a Duster. Interested in how they look only seen pictures of them on other cars. If you have them I'm curious how is the finish and quality of the wheels, and if you had any issues with them. Thanks

I usually don't like those on pre 70's cars but that size looks pretty good on that '68.
 
I haven’t gotten around to trying a different tire yet and I believe they are 4.5 for the back spacing
 
@Spanishgold76 Did you have to do anything to the front fender lips in front of the tires? I've wanted to get the same wheels for my 70 Duster, but was afraid the tires would hit the fender lip since Dusters are notorious for that with wide tires. I will be running 73^ brakes and suspension like what is probably on your car.
 
I rolled the very top of the fender and moved the braces at the bottom towards the the front to push the fender out. And I had been fighting it for longer than I should have due to worn pivot bushings in the lower control arms, they weren’t badly worn but I had upgraded to qa1 lowers to match the uppers. Also I put a bigger sway bar on to help with body roll aswel
 
The year one rallye’s are 17x8 with a 4.5” backspace. Which isn’t really enough for an 8” rim on an A-body with BBP brakes. With an 8” rim you really need at least a 5” backspace to make it worthwhile, and really more like 5.25” to 5.5”.

You can just look at the pictures and see that those wheels are sitting way out in the fenders. And a 225/45/17 is a small tire for a 17x8, not to mention only 25” tall. Which is really the only reason they’re not rubbing all the time.

Even with only 225/45/17’s on those rims the tires would be almost a 1/4” further out than the 275/35/18’s I have on the front of my car. The Year One wheels were made for B/E bodies with their 0 offset. For an A-body they’re just the wrong backspace for the front, you shouldn’t have to roll the fender and extend the braces for only a 225. But if you want those rims that’s the kind of stuff you’ll have to do to make them fit. Like I said, they’re worse for fender clearance than my 275’s are up front.
 
And your one hundred percent right about that. As an uninformed 19 year old I bought them because I wanted the look but didn’t want to double what I had into the car at the time for a set of wheel if I had to do it all over I would go a completely different route

Hey no worries! I’ve done some stuff that was less than ideal because that was what I could do at the time. I just wanted to make sure people were aware of the limitations and the possible modifications needed. If you just “have to have” the rallyes they can be made to work, but because of their backspacing they’re far from the best option.

Oh most definitely if I wanted to track and auto cross the car they would be the worst wheels possible. But for people that just cruise and go to car shows they aren’t terrible
