Look what the younger kid and I just scored locally off of Craigslist... An old Wheel Horse garden tractor...

The kid looked it up and it was made in 1968... They were only offered two years, 68 & 69... 8 horse Kohler engine, made in South Bend, IN... Look at the heavy duty front axle... And it even has grease fittings on the front wheels...

That thing even has a cigarette lighter on the dash!!!

Mitch can light one of his stogies while he mows the grass with this one...

All it needs is a cup holder and you can drink a beer and smoke a cigar while cutting the grass....

8 hp commando!!

Signal lights need a load to work, i tried a ballast resistor, it works but gets real hot. I can hide it under dash away from meltables, but is it too much load is what im wondering. I need led resistors in thinking.

Very cool. The frame looks like 1/4" plate. Does it run?

They said that it ran a year and a half ago, but won't start now... Needs a battery...

The kid was able to turn the engine by hand, so it's not locked up.... The kid is good at fixing small engines; lawn mowers, quads, motorcycles, power generators, etc... He'll be able to get it started...

The thing has a coil like a car engine... The coil looks like the same as on a V-8 or slant 6

Check out the coil here...

Should be a cover with points. Looks like a starter/generator on it too.

Evening. Bottom end is in. Bearing clearances, right down the middle of the spec. Had a happy little boy who got to help push the pistons home.

Front pushing through here. Calling for 5 or 6 inches of snow. Should lock this place down tight! Got a meatloaf in the oven. Fire in the fireplace. Football on TV and whiskey in the glass! Life is good.. Got a couple pounds of axis meat in the fridge, make a pot of chili tomorrow.

My father was a mechanical wiz. Guess that is where I get my limited talent.......
Speaking of things like that, I let my minions crawl under the truck with me today and help me change the oil. My son got bored in about 2 minutes, my daughter stayed with it all the way thru. Asking a billion questions which was both awesome and annoying haha

When I was in college they gave us an aptitude test to see what our strong points were...

I scored 69 out of 70 points for mechanical aptitude... That told me that mechanical engineering was the right field for me....
