Has anyone replaced the quarter window seals (the vertical swiveling seal at the front of the rear quarter windows) in their A body? I have a 1974 Duster that needs them. There are some new repro ones for sale on eBay. Anyone used them? Are they any good? Thanks.

I documented my restoration of the quarter windows on my 70 Duster.

Are you asking about the piece in the last photo of my post here...

Also, in the first photo here...

Or, are you asking about the piece in photo #8 of the above link (Resto - Part 2)?

The first is from DMT, the second I purchased on EBay. Both good quality. I can get you the part number of the second item, if needed.

Yes, I'm going to replace the piece in the last photo of part 1. If you had a part number, that would be great. You also mentioned polishing the glass. My glass has some hard water stains on the outside. Is it very hard to remove this or polish it out? Never done any glass polishing before. Whaddya think?

Looks like they are having some supply issues with these. Call Jim Fillmore at DMT, he is a good guy and a great resource. He will steer you straight.

As for the glass, polish away. If it's hard water stains, maybe try some CLR on it first. Grab one of those green/yellow kitchen scrubbies that are soft on one side and scratchy on the other. A little elbow grease should get them out. For polishing, use a cutting compound first and then a polish. I've always used Meguiars 105 & 205 (in that order), and have always had good results. Just a dab will do, don't overdo the 105! Use a pneumatic or electric polisher, hand polishing probably will be tough to get anywhere.
