After a couple of years layoff to build new building I am getting back to my love of building cars
My problem is that I have bought a 2014 Challenger R/T salvageable BUT it has no key or fob . What is my best way to go or should I just bite the bullet and take to a dealer?
This for the build of my wifes 63 Dodge Dart convertible

You need to bring the title or registration with YOUR NAME on it to the dealership. You could always call your local dealership to find out for sure.

Are you planning on dropping in the motor and transmission and doing the harness yourself. Their are quite a few things that need to be deleted for a swap. Best bet is to get a harness from Hotwire and have them flash your ECU. Or a Mopar performance harness and ECU. Or a 2005 truck ECU for $75 and not worry about the anti theft.

Might look into AlphaOBD.

Not certain if it can help you but pretty sure it can be used to code fob's to the 2015+ cars so it might be able to do it for you as well. Probably needs the full version ($50) plus an OBD2 reader (cost depending on what is required). In the end, might not save you money over the dealership, but if they won't do it for some reason it might help.

Oh, and you still have to buy a fob/key.

Local locksmith can get you a new key or fob if he has a computer. All he has to do is plug the new fob info into the car via computer. It's expensive, but not as expensive as a dealer

X2 on Alpha OBD, if you own a modern Chrysler vehicle it's 100% worth the cost of the app.

You can program a new FOB but you will need to get the car's PIN code from a friendly dealer. (some don't play nice with this request)

If you search the interwebs there are is a lot of info about how to do this.
