Wanted local pick up for Long Island N.Y. 1964-65 , 904 torque converter I think its a 18 spline shaft. 66 and up will not work with my push button trans.

Actually, 60-67 will work. If you don't find anything locally, I have a couple, but I'm in Florida
The LA motor was first produced in 1964 so what would fit on that from 1960? A converter from a slant? I am trying to learn about these things so I don't trash the input shaft on the transmission. I had a tranny shop already destroy the tranny when he put a later model planetary in the unit and then hooked up my original Torque converter, it sounded like a blender when the engine was started.

I have one from a 65 Barracuda .I'm in Huntington Long Island and the factory ones are the same for the six and the 273 in 65 and 64 .Probably a little later too. What is it going behind ? Where you run into problems is with the crank flange on the later 68 and up motors. They are a different size .

I need a core to send out. I have the original 273 and tranny for the valiant but need a core to have set up for 2400 rpm stall. Doing a cam and head swap on the motor.

Biltron builds them and they are right here on the island .They will make it to whatever you need and are reasonable Rebuilt Torque Converters — Biltron Quality Automotive Remanufacturer
I had one made there with a later front and the earlier back when I put in a later motor in front of the 2 cable trand in a 65 Valiant .They are very good .

Your welcome ! I've used them a few times and so have a few of my friends. If you still need a core let me know I have one I can dig up.
I stopped in and spoke to the owner, he said he could help me so I am planning on getting my converter to him this week.
Thanks for the info
