What was used for the heat stove on this intake? Stock choke piece doesn’t fit

I don't think the LD340 ( or any aftermarket intake ) was designed to use a stock style thermal choke. Would probably have a Holley mounted or convert to electric or manual choke.

I have seen little choke coils that would fasten to the 2 screws here.

There are some generic choke coils that bolt to that. I have one on my large port dual plane Weiand intake.

iirc they come with the coil ends on either side. There is a pin that locates them but flipping them changes the offset of the coils.

can’t remember if they come in different opening rates.

the Tomco 9007 is for sure one. You can see the outline matched toolmanmike’s pic. Not sure is the Standard CV-76 is one. I think one has the lever attachment on the wrong side.

you’ll have to look it up those part numbers and figure which is right.

PS. Toolmanmike, is Champion Auto still in business ?

Here they are.

they are stamped 32 and 39 on the bottom. Don’t know what that means.

the hooks aren’t pulled all the way down cause it’s 85 degrees in my garage :D

Yea that looks good, do they have a cover? Going one of two ways here, AVS or TQ, since I have about ten of each plus a few new carters and Edelbrocks, reason for the hot choke.
Where are those sold at?

mike showed you a link to Summit Racing.

I would google those part numbers and put them in rockauto.com to check

I saw these two on summit on bottom of that page Mike linked to. One is $11.99. I can’t see a difference other than hook location

you’ll need to make a Z-bar out of rod for the choke attachment. Then you bend the Z part to shorten or lengthen the rod for fine adjustments

I’m guessing one push’s up and the other pulls down, sorry didn’t see the link.
Didn’t the early Chevys have something like that?

iirc, I’ve heard Chevy used them. I think they might have had a cover OE.

All 3 on summit and the two I have push up.

if they pulled down, then when cold the hook hole would be on top.

Thanks, I knew you guys would come thru for the help!

Excellent detailed info.

Really nice! :thankyou::thumbsup:

Note: those Chevy ones shown are all “pull down” . You can see the hook hole on top when cold.

Also: you can use the Chevy cover shown with other “push up” mechanisms. If you need to. I used a “push up” with my AVS. But there was plenty of room to use either. Just depended on how you bend the rod.
