Stop in for a cup of coffee

It's wiener Wednesday....

I was just looking at the NHRA schedule. I knew they had moved The Winternationals to April and recently wrote Phx off completely, they moved Vegas to April also. If Vegas spring weather is similar to the spring weather in the Mojave, that might prove to be a real challenge. "Sorry folks, eliminations are postponed until we can see the end of the track. There's too much dust blowing."

But will make it a fun ride... :D :D

I like this stuff, not overly hot. Great on a burger!

That stuff was quite the target hatred a few years ago in San Gabriel Valley. Their processing plant was right in the middle of Irwindale I think it was. It seems the fumes from it's production were causing things like burning eyes and asthma attacks and all sorts of respiratory maladies to the residents down wind of the plant.

So the city bought them out and sold them a facility for $1 on the edge of town. LOL

Well crap Dave, I am same height as RRR. And a large frame. I gotta lose thirty five pounds? That is a lot of beer not to drink? If I can still bench 300 does that help me? Hah! I am doomed! A life time of weight lifting sinks me! On serious note I have found as I age that my body likes the higher rep less weight routines. It is very difficult on my mind and ego tho! I try and stay in the 3-5 rep range and quite honestly at my age I need to be in the 6-9 range. I have also found my attachments do not heal as quickly. All the years of playing ice hockey and weightlifting help my overall health but in the end I fully recognize I am carrying extra weight that is ultimately shortening my life span. The over 55 ice hockey leagues are filled with trim fit guys, I can still keep up kind of, but in the end, 235 on skates is just to heavy. You guys inspire me, my down fall is and will always be bread. I love bread! Kudos to you guys for losing the weight! Rock on!
And some days we feel like this...

Irwindale is an odd place to begin with. It's built in the middle of a huge sand wash. When I was young there were 6 rock and sand plants within 3 -4 miles of each other. One of which was the top producing plant in the US.

We had a bakery downtown for almost 100 years. Now that's a odor you can like. Wonder Bread moved out and the facility got turned into a microbrewery. It still smells like grain and yeast but a different smell. LOL

The farmers used to grow a lot of sugar beets here in the valley, fittingly Union Sugar built a processing plant west of town. The prevailing winds come off the beach to the west. When beet season came around it smelled like baked potatoes all over town

Perfect. Quaker OAts is in Cedar Rapids a hour south. It always smells like a bowl of oatmeal when you drive through town. Better than a rendering plant. or a hog confinement unit. LOL (we have a lot of those here.)

How about Gilroy? The smell??

So I’m thinking about how Rami sold out and moved. I’m thinking of doing the same thing. Move to that Montana mountain top.
