Stop in for a cup of coffee

Well Good Morning Everyone. Had my day of appointments yesterday. Partial tear per MRI. Strength in all movements but pain. So, the plan is prescription anti-inflammatory for 4 days and PT for 7-10 days. If no relief, then we will talk then. Doc wants to avoid cutting me if possible. Meds will take me through most of the weekend and PT starts tomorrow. Idea is to see if inflammation can be reduced to lessen the pain. I am supposed to call on Monday with a report as to how I am feeling. A good friend had the same plan, his first PT they laughed and said you need surgery. His was operated on last week. Time will tell. Also, supposed to get 3-8" of snow today then deep freeze starting tomorrow.
Eric, 25 years ago I had a partial tear with my first shoulder separation (have had three total). No surgery, I did PT for three months, and got to where it felt pretty good. It took a year before I felt 100%. I'm very active, but careful with overhead lifting, it pops and clicks. I'm sure you'll finally find your answers and get some relief.

Well at least the ball is rolling and a plan in place. I had a similar experience with my knee. Gotta jump through hoops but as long as you keep on top of it with the doctors , be your own advocate it will all come together. It’s the waiting that got to me the most. Hang in there brother!

And this is the only person I trust to cut me if it is needed and will adhere to his advice as to what to try or do. He knows his stuff very well.

Yes I have a snow blower and have someone that has been plowing the majority of it out for me as well. That helps a ton. Little shoveling on short side walk to the front door. The rest can sit for now if needed.

Hope you can take it easy so you'll know if you need surgery or not, kinda sucks but...

It's Thunder Boat Thursday!

Good morning :D

I have been taking it very easy for the last 2 months or more. It is very boring but better than the alternative. I have an exercise bike in the living room....and actually still use it!

25 years later still when I go in weekly to lift weights the first stop is the elastic bands and the same PT shoulder stretches...just part of the routine.

Result as yours, PT did not resolve. Knife did.

It is my gut feeling but trying to be an open minded as possible. The next week or more of deep freeze will stop me from doing much anyway, so timing is ok to see how I feel.

The PT today has become very good and very point specific. So much more effective than it was twenty years ago. Anytime you can dodge the surgery it is a good thing. Keep in mind as hockey players we bash our shoulders continuously. And like most athletes we do not stop once we hurt it nor do we ever let it heal. Thus the need for severe repair methods vs more conventional methods.Translated we are mostly bone heads and just will never let an injury heal.

Morning, snow was a bust here, only got an inch of it. Chance for some more tonight though. Time to fill my cup and head for the patch.

It just started spitting some snow here. We are supposed to get more today and windy. Looks like 2-6" (que Karl) It looks like we are on the south end of the snow so we won't get the 8"+ they predicted last night. I have a dentist appointment at 10 for a clean and check.

I can see why John is moving south!
I am hoping the one snow we seen a week ago is the last one, it was on the ground for 10 hours.
I lived in Illinois for a year and a half before I moved to Arkansas, I don't like the freezer with all that wind day in day out for seems like 6 months out of the year.
