Try calling the order desk for drivetrain.com at 1-800-216-1632.

They have overhaul kits, not sure if you can get just the real seal.

Finally got the right rear seal Napa has 2 listings or more for the 70 duster 3 speed manual A230. The right one is Timken 8935 Napa 15535. Yet another twist the rear seal from a 66 dart slant 6 automatic tranny National 89355 is the same seal for my A230 3 speed 70 duster.

I recently had a local transmission shop here in Washington PA go through the three speed for my 75 to make sure it was good to go after sitting for thirty five years, and though they gave it a clean bill of health, I was disappointed when I went to pick it up. They'd used the wrong output shaft seal(no boot) and excused the error saying the correct part wasn't available anywhere anymore. Frankly I didn't believe them, so I searched this blog and found this thread. Based on this thread I went ahead and ordered part number 8935-S, seen on the left in the photo. Its diameter is 2 1/4 inches, and though it worked for jose65cuda's 1970 transmission, it turned out to be too small for my 75. A little more research led to the two on the right. It seems transmissions from 74 on(someone correct me if I've got that wrong) were built to a slightly different standard and are referred to by the model number NP230, with NP meaning New Process. Part number 2506 from auto zone(and many other sources) has a diameter of 2 3/8 and is an exact match to the one removed from my transmission. Then it turns out there's a third variant. While my 75 three speed has an output shaft with 26 splines, there's another version of this trans that has a slightly larger output shaft with thirty splines. It would use part number 7300S seen on the right with a diameter of 2 1/2 inches, and some sources are saying it's the correct output shaft seal for the four speed A833 as well. Anyways, Since this thread deals with this issue I figured I'd put this here so all the information would be in one place. If any of this is wrong please add a correction below so folks aren't led astray.

I have 8 A-230 (aka NP-230) 3-speeds here.

The A-230 A body versions use the same rear seal and smaller driveshaft yoke as the A904 automatic.

The B and E body versions use the same rear seal as the A-833 4 speed and the 727 automatics. These use the larger driveshaft yoke splines, but they can have the small or large u-joint size depending on application.

In 1970 IIRC, there were THREE different models of 3-speed transmissions in production; the A903, the A745, and the A230 aka NP230. It was the first year of the 230 and IIRC only available with the 340, OR, at least, it was the only 3-speed available with the 340.
And @Tanker details the seals nicely above

The A-230 was available behind the /6, 318, 340 & 383 4-bbl.

When the 340s were replaced by the 360 for the 1974 model year, the A-230 was available with them too.

I have even seen one 1970 Dodge truck with the 383 A-230 combination so far.

This is all very interesting. The original poster has a 1970 Duster with an A230 that made use of the smaller output shaft seal, yet that same seal was too small for my 1975 Duster’s 230. That would indicate that a change was made along the way, and from what I’ve been able to find so far it seems 74 was the year. But I don’t have access to the material Alaskan_TA does. I wish I did.

About 74, or a lil later, the A833 overdrive was introduced. It came in two flavors for A-bodies; the 904 sized yoke and 727 sized yoke, and of course each requires it's own bushing and seal.
I cannot help but think the A230 was similarly endowed.

This rear seal information is only for A- bodies with the A230 transmission.1970-1972 Chrysler part #2400163 interchanges with Timken #8935s. It has a bore diameter 2.250. 1973-1976 Chrysler part #3515384 interchanges with Timken #2506. It has a bore diameter 2.372.
