Freddy got my mounts done. He even stamped his shop's name in them. lol

Very nice indeed! I especially like the header pipe mirror mounts and I hope this truck gets smoke stacks. The pine needles are also a nice touch! :p

No stacks. Just zoomie weedburner type pipes. I might turn them up on the ends like dragster headers. I have a set of eight rain caps.lol

Freddy got my mount pads made. Yall try not to laugh too hard at my welds. After the first pass on the driver's side vertical to the frame, I ran out of gas. I'm gonna get a refill after the first of the year, grind the crappy welds off and reweld them. But for now I went ahead since I needed to mockup everything to see how it fits. Fits good, too.

Went out today and dug out a few parts for a couple more rat truck projects. I found a couple of Z bars and brackets. Got my steering column and wheel out. So I'll be fittin and mockin all that up in the coming weeks as the cold weather breaks, so stay tuned.

Got some stuff mocked up today so I can see what I'm lookin at. Z-bar, clutch and brake pedal, steering column and master cylinder.

Thats about where i grab some welding rods and the arc welder.
I dont arc weld much, so its my backup, unless im welding sheet metal.

Things are a little different for me, too. “Shop supplies” are pretty vague, and its buried in my hourly shop rate. So business supplies all my welding stuff, body filler and abrasives. Essentially, a shop expense. i should have started this business 20 years ago.

...and I'm thankful everyday that I DIDN'T start a business. LOL

That is good info on the frame fit-up, I just bought a 46 Dodge 1/2 ton last week, complete, nice body.
Not sure yet what to do with it, I guess it all depends on if the original engine will start.

Looks great, is there a thread on the engine build?

Thanks yall. I've put this back on the back burner for a moment. It's gotten really wet here so we pushed the truck out in the driveway about the first of the year and covered the hemi up real good. Vixen's wiper seals leak and I don't want her new carpet getting wet so I pulled her in the shop. Probably getting ready to swap them back out shortly.

Very cool. What size Hemi?
I ended up putting a slant 6 and 4 speed in my '49 Fargo.
I have a 330 DeSoto Hemi, but it's headed for my '58 Plymouth Suburban 2 door wagon.

It's a 56 331 truck motor.

We dragged the rat truck out from the side of the shop and I've done a little work on it. Reprimed the engine. Took the valve covers off because the paint is peeling off. I also SOAKED the valve train with Fluid Film. Timed it up and stabbed the distributor in. Bolted the starter on it. I'm going to start working on the zoomie headers and the steering shaft. I need to get it runnin so I can sell it, or so I can enjoy it. Here are the valve covers. I used a high quality primer filler this time, so I think I got it. @dartfreak75 will like this.

Those look awesome man. Can't wait to see it in the truck.

Well...well.....well......A "touch up" ended up being an entire repaint. Two cans. Same part number. Same Chrysler blue name. Totally different colors. It ended up a shade or two darker, but I like it. Plus, I ain't doin it again. lol
