Hello,

I am in process of looking for a new brake booster. 1968 Plymouth barracuda Notchback with a 440 from a 73 charger.

i am not sure if the brake booster is original
But it’s pretty huge and old. Looking to clean the engine bay a bit with something more sleek cleaner and smaller.

Do you guys have any recommendations.

My buddies 1970 challenger has a smaller more flush brake booster. I wonder if that would fit in my car?

what specs would I look into to see proper figment?

Post us a picture, so we can see what you have-of the booster. I'm thinking that you will need the offset brackets on the original A Body booster.

You need the offset brackets that came on the PB cars. They came with fairly small boosters, however. On the other hand, many of us see no need for power brakes on an A-body...

Unless you are going to run cruise control.:D

Cruise shouldn't need power brakes. That is where the vacuum signal is pulled from, but it's basically a "T" from the manifold. The off signal comes from the brake pedal switch.

Probably so, but I have never seen a cruise control equipped Mopar back in the day, that didn't have power brakes. I remember seeing somewhere that cc was not available without power brakes. But I could be wrong.

It may not have been, but it's not necessary as far as I can tell. I will be adding cruise to my '67 with manual brakes so we will see. That's down the road a bit at this point, though.
