How do you get the dowel out of the steering column?

The pic isn't good, but this is the stage I'm at and I'm having trouble removing the dowel pin so I can pull this saw blade-looking thing off so I can access my ignition locking cylinder.

How did you get it out? Thanks.

I believe you pop this circular clip off and the lock ring (sawblade) comes off. I could be wrong though. Anybody else?

Do you have a factory service manual?

I've been looking up a video on assembly of a column like yours and I agree. You need a drift pin flat faced punch a little smaller than the pin and hammer to drive it out.

There is a really good video of a guy with a duster with a beige interior that's excellent. Just look up "replacing ignition locking cylinder on Plymouth duster" on youtube and it should pop up. He does the whole thing, but doesn't actually show himself whacking at the pin.

I'll be giving it another go tomorrow. In the meantime, it's been hit with some PB Blaster and Marvel Mystery Oil.

It looks to be something of a rollpin shouldn't be too hard to get it moving, just make sure the punch is bigger than the pin hole and smaller than the pin it's self.
You got this.

This is a tapered pin so it goes in and out only 1 direction. With master spline at top, pin goes out toward door.
