experienced a sonic boom at kramers junction ca at the north east corner of edwards afb back in 1989, thought the restaurant we was in exploded! me an my uncle was down in floor skeerd to death, ol waitress still poring our tea didnt flintch!!

Good ole Four Corners .. Gateway to Purgatory

wont much there then, lil resturant, gas station and a junk dealer,..herd its blossomed into a good sized town but ant planning on ever running california again!

I think they built a prison in that neighborhood. I go that way on occasion when I 10 to Phoenix and LA traffic are feeling boring . Brats and granbrats are in Phx. Some of those bustling communities out there are not so bustling anymore. Needles looks like a ghost town, as does half of Barstow.

barstow and bakersfield were ate up with meth back when i run out there! went threw 4 corners and across the mojavie to miss L.A.! use to cut down threw gala bend out to eloy to miss phoenix alot too!!

Bakersfield and it's suburbs have over 1M peoples now. Army made Ft Irwin their national training post for desert warfare, but Santa Fe RR pulled their diesel shops out of Barstow and the decline began. CalTrans and the Feds did improve the roadways in the Barstow area to some extent.

I remember sonic booms in the early mid 60s. They were equivalent to a clap of lightning hitting close to your space. Sometimes more distant. Like lightning. Although the sound is different. Intensity I believe is simular

Ha, been there! We heard booms occasionally when camping north of Victorville off 395. Didnt need a permit jack in 1975 like you do now. Just truck on down a random dirt road and circle the wagons where it looks gold. Beautiful in the spring and fall, hot or cold any other time.

You got damn right I would & I'd do it till the 1st crash happened & then stop lol
