The thing is you have nothing to loose, nothing; yet you have everything to gain. Not lot's of people would would give up 136 cubic inches to an opponent, which could mean you are giving up 136 HP, .......GO FOR IT!!!!!!!!!!!!
It'd just be for fun, and we'll be friends afterwards... LOL His 454 is a lower compression motor, with a mild cam, headers, and obviously a 4bbl. He'd like to run 12's with it, we'll see.
 
A guy in a 69 Chevelle SS396 got beat 4 times, one from a dead start and one from 70 MPH to over 100 MPH. He got so pissed, he followed us into the store parking lot, did a lot of yelling and kicked the right rear quarter panel.

Both rear quarters had 22 pounds of lead shot poured in so they were SOLID as a rock and he broke his foot.

No, he did not pay the $50 he challenged us with.
Would have loved to have seen video of That. there are many who spend alot of $$$ in a Summit catalog, put it all together and it don't run for anything...it makes them mad because they drained their bank account and still don't go fast...:)

if you really know your wrenching, you can comb a junklyard and build a fast engine from used factory parts. you have to know what works with what.

carb.... 400 2bbl on the 360 2bbl intake will have more low end crunch than a 408 from off idle, especially with the cam advanced 4* and the Rhoads lifters

I'll use the 302 heads on DT, and with my port job I'm hoping they flow around 240 @ .450 lift. Even though they are closed chamber, I'll use some of all the left over money to mill an additional .050 and hopefully that puts me at 9.8 to 1 with Fel Pro 1008 gasket.

Oh! I plan to dremel the divider out of the plenum of the 360 intake making it more of a single plane. That intake should flow what the heads will flow then.

He offered me to buy that 318. His price was reasonable, at least I thought, especially with the W2's and all. I know his ET, and that was a street car raced in street form.

If you knew his ET, you were one of a very few, he was a grudge racer as far as I knew.
He even offered to come to Idaho for a match. lol

yes, I know exactly what he ran. I'll just say he took money from 10 second turbo-charged fox bodies... :D

Yea he was very confident with his stuff, that's for sure.
He sold a bunch of his stuff a few years back, is he still racing ?

haven't heard hide or tail from him. Also, he didn't have the right converter behind the teen either. He only cut a 1.6 60 ft, which was bad for his ET. He was building a faster/bigger motor for the Duster. When he offered me his teen, I think he was doing a 360 or a stroker, can't remember.
