Good morning, new to the whole muscle car scene. Ive been a 4x4 truck hoarder my whole life. While searching for car projects for my twin boys I drug home a 1976 Duster, 6 cyl manual 4 speed with OD, with brown/gold paint that hasn’t ran in 20 years. My wife took one look and said “thats ugly, i aint riding in it”. And 76 ugly duster was born.

Nice find, I think they only made them a 1/2 a year. I had a '76 Volare wagon with a /6 and 4 OD and loved that setup. Post some pics of that Ugly Duster.

Welcome to the site, let's see the pics.
Maybe it's not as ugly as your wife thinks it is...........

Welcome to FABO, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I am sure you and the boys will turn that Duster into a thing of beauty. We love pictures.....

Welcome. Played with trucks myself for a lot of years and then a 70 Duster followed me home. Eight years later, it’s still a long ways from seeing the road!!

All right, i got my picture to load. You gotta admit, she aint attractive, yet. I will try to get more to load.

Shes got fold down rear seats, and the room behind it and the trunk separater. No badging. I kow plymouth made all kinds of funny names. It was factory brown/gold, but they did not make a gold duster in 76 correct? It has the fiberboard headliner and OD 4 with 225, but not aluminum bumper mounts so it shouldnt be a feather duster right? and It does have fold down rear seats with a trunk divider, is that a possible space duster?

My boys are savages. One found a 69 mustang (were building a 351w) one found a 60 amc american, And I brought home the real muscle (well, hopefully after a motor swap, Cant let a mustang show dad up)

That’s a good question and I’m not sure of the answer. My guess is that as the gas wars got worse, a lot of them were driven into the ground and ended up crushed or in the boneyards. Not sure why the 70-72 era seems to more prevalent

woah, old school music

if you are set on keeping the 76 front end, put up a want add, plenty of us dislike it enough to swap it out for a 70-72 front end

so, with those 4x4s...any traildusters or ramchargers in there?
