They do make those copper washers as shown in a vid someone posted. Get the correct size, insert, tighten and go.

So I made a new line from prop valve to passenger caliper... these flare surfaces look pretty damn nice, it better not leak... If it doesn't I can send back the copper brake line and copper flares and never touch my brakes again.... until I have to do rear disc brakes...

Brake line installed and so far I'm not seeing any leaks at the connections. Tomorrow I have the wife help me bleed the brakes and I'll take it for a spin.

Hey Doc....are you making double flares on the lines, or single? If you're doing single flares, that may be why it leaks.

Agree , double flairs only , looks like he forgot to de burr before flairing too-------------

It's most definitely a double flare, the outer edges do that little splitting when I don't sand the outer edges at a 45 before putting the 2nd flare in.

I replumbed my whole car with a rolled line from jegs , about 10 yrs ago, didnt put not one split flair in , if they split they aint right , after 50 plus yrs of being a plumber , I think I got this right .

Yea I'm no plumber and not the best mechanic lol

I was going to add, if it leaks, flare it again, sometimes er no, mostly all the time if mine leak, its because I screwed up on the flare job, but yes you do a "double" flare as stated, you use the collet once, then roll the flare tool down on it after.

I made a new line, and another new line.. just have to install the last one

Not sure it'll help, but I use a squirt of WD-40 to keep the tool from scoring the tube.

Looking good! Hope that's the last piece of the puzzle. For now!!

On a side note, does your oldest use a lap belt with her booster? My son is 7 and I'm racking my brain on seat belts for him to ride.

Thanks! We both know the puzzle is never completed haha.

Yes all my kids use lap belts. My oldest daughter is 6 and son is 8, use a lap belt with booster. Baby is 1 and I use the lap belt with the rear facing car seat. I don't drive to far in the car with the kids that often.

Brakes work great! Made another line from MC to Prop Valve from the copper nickel line then added some of these fancy brass flare gaskets. No leaks, no sticking brakes, stops great etc...

Oh also the car looks great!

Been busy this week haven't done car stuff until today...

Put my rear door cards back on... then tried fixing the vinyl on the roof. Oh and added these cool little mopar stars that have been sitting in a drawer since I got the car.

With my brakes working I am going to have to buy a prop valve and replace the one Tony gave me so I could see if that was the problem. Thanks again Tony!

What a crazy ride... Yesterday was my official last day of dental school!

My job in vegas fell through last week so I've been pounding the pavement trying to find a new job. 1 really good lead here in Las Vegas and 1 in Joplin Missouri.... anyone live in Missouri?

The car looks awesome bud! You should come to va and open a practice. I need a tooth pulled real cheap! Lol

Congratulations on finishing your education, sorry that you lost the opportunity, but there will be another one, might even be better for you and your family. Good luck!

Heck yeah man congrats! Been going through your thread the last few days. What a cool process! Man you’ve done a ton of learning and experimenting on it. I love it.

I live in Missouri. Columbia specifically. A buddy I went to college with was in Vegas and is back again in MO. Missouri is a good place to live. Joplin is smaller. Don’t know the car scene there though.
