I have! I’m definitely attending for the last time. Been attending southern nationals since I moved to GA 11 years ago. Guess they didn’t lose that much $ last year with Covid lockdowns so they’re cutting some lose ends.

Putting money back into Pomona......
Why in the hell would they do that?. They have been fighting noise complaints for decades, had to make a deal, killing "little guy"use of the track to bargain for one extra use for their 50th aniversary race.
The track is literally used twice a year, and thats not gonna change.
I think atlanta is sold to put more money in nhra's bank, and nothing else.
(In case you're wondering, that track is five miles from my house, and im still PISSED that they killed of the street legals for us little guys, so they could celebrate how glorious they are. F#&k the nhra.)

Just the tip of the iceberg. I will just tactfully say that there are some highly placed people who hate car racing. Maybe we should all sell our classic cars and buy a Prius.

You could go to a remote, unpopulated island in the middle of the ocean, build a drag strip or a speedway and inevitably, some "jack leg" will build a house right next to it and will find a way to close it down. It's happened to a bunch of wonderful little airports all over the U.S. also. IMHO, the people that do these things, are miserable human beings and they want everyone around them miserable.

From the story I got this weekend, there is a battery plant in Commerce, GA. The company bought the dragstrip to build condos for the workers coming from overseas.

WOKE culture ? Voter id in Georgia relapses?
Joining the view of Coke and MLB?

I never understood why people build and buy houses next to a race track and then complain about the noise. Both drag strips and circle tracks are disappearing because of this. Airports get larger every year and 100 times noisy. Yet nobody cares about that.

Good point .. they buy the houses when its not racing season and the commission hungry real estate agent / builder surely isn't going to tell them thus putting their commission at risk, don't have to tell me about this situation .. we lost Englishtown and now possibly Atco here in N.J... infuriates me every time I think about it. There are occasional articles in newspapers about illegal street racing .. Gee I wonder why ? maybe closing race tracks has something to do with it!

Man I’d like to pull some mafia **** on these people who complain. Sounds like they need one of their favorite cute little animals head cut off and placed in their bed, like the GodFather. I’m gettin real fed up with people.

Exactly! Too much fossil fuels being burnt and contributing to climate change so eventually they are going to shut down all motor sports unless they convert to battery powered cars like formula 1 has. I cannot watch formula 1 ev it sickens me.

I wouldn't have believed it.

BREAKING NEWS: Formula One to go fully electric in 2021

Formula 1 is going to be as exciting to watch as golf. "And a hush falls over the track......"
The only time I have watched F1 running the electric cars, the only thing that I thought of was how much it sounded like the old slot car track I had as a kid. Never was a big F1 fan, and haven't watched it since.

How many states have already passed legislation that will ban all sales of gasoline powered vehicles by 2030? That is what the future holds for this hobby and any form of motorsports unless it is environmentally friendly. It will all be legislated out of existence by the middle of this century. Bet on it. With any luck I will be dead by then.

Our local track ( Firebird ) is in the middle of the desert 15 miles from the nearest town with nothing but sage brush and grass in between ... until some Jack Wagon built a big house about 400 yards behind the burnout box ! That was about 10-15 years ago. Now lots of houses are sprouting up within ears shot of the track. It wont be long...
I alway wondered what that first guy thought when the jet dragsters would come out and blow a tornado of dust in their direction ! Lol

April Fools!
Does anybody really believe they are gonna thro away billions of dollars of research and equipment THIS YEAR, to be politically correct?
After seeing some of the "stuff" that has happened so far this year, it really wouldn't surprise me. :D

Maybe people get smart enough to vote the fuckers out
