What is up with cam bearings? My machine shop called me today and said he could not get any anywhere. Summit, out of stock. advance auto, out of stock. Jegs the same. Rockauto only had engine tech brand so, I had to get them. Why the shortage? Anyone know?
This is for a 97 ram with a 5.9 magnum.

Summit does not support your argument..... what specific motor lol

Well damm. When I checked earlier with a 97 ram with a 5.9, it showed none available. I dunno, I musta done something wrong.
Thank you.

Almost all stuff Mopar you need to call Summit or Jegs directly now. Their dang on line locator stinks. IMHO. I call- speak to an agent and in moments have 2-10 choices.

Also Napa is a good supplier for parts like that too. Ya just have to wait a day or two for them to pull from a warehouse. 318 gaskets set took me 1 week a few months back. 318-360 intake gaskets were plentiful but I wanted the specific small port 273/318
gaskets.

I usually have trouble using Summit's online parts ordering. It is extremely cumbersome, and not user friendly for me on my mobile.

Don’t forget to check local stores and rock auto for stuff like this. A lot of time Oreillys can have in a day or two.

Summit has the worst search engine on there web sight I have ever seen.

I was able to get from rockauto. Napa was sold out as well. Hopefully they arrive before next weekend so I can get the block back and start assembling it.
Thanks all!

Agreed, but I'd say 'Almost'
Try speed master, Howard's, or comp.
Comp used to be really really bad. I now just search the pdf for specific things like the spring chart. That takes way less time , way easier to find what I'm lookin for.

Buy direct from Dura-Bond... I buy most of my parts from the mfg. Good prices and fast shipping.

No one in the US had King bearings for my small block. I walked into Competition Products place and he called King directly and I had them in a few days.

Any machine shop can usually same day/next day parts from their local warehouse suppliers.
For example tomorrow I can go down the street and get a set of rod bearings for $20 if I call today.

Thanks for all the replies. The machine shop I use is connected to a Napa Auto parts. I dunno, he told me they tried all of their vendors and each one was on back order. He was able to get everything else but the cam bearings. I was able to order a set from rockauto and should have them here Wednesday.

Bummer. Napa is not a good source for bearings and rings....or machine shop supplies. Musant be any around there I guess.
