getting the fresh air openings cut out. you can see them behind the valance opening directly under the grill on both sides of the radiator opening

still needs a little fine tuning / trimming, plus mounting tabs to the stainless steel oval to round adapters, and install anti-vibration rubber around the core support opening. Powder coat the intakes gloss black and ready for the 4" hoses.

Did that on a hot 406 sbc GMC shortbed once, I made alum. pins to hold the hose onto the nipples in the rad. cradle , that way I could pull the pins and remove the hose to take the air cleaner off quickly .

ready to put on the install cart.....that thing was first used in the early 90's to put a 440 in brother Weebs green Duster from the bottom. My brothers doubted me, I said "stand back"

good shot of the HDK / "Flash" shifter adapter. If you can't buy it....build it.

Funny, just as I was getting ready to cut, I had visitors....so I waited until the next day when I'm by myself. The biggest hold up was wanting to be positive it was the best option. I was hoping to come from the sides of the radiator support, but the 4" fittings / hose were too big for the opening I had with the OEM K. Once that option was off the table, I was good to go. When confirmed the ovals were centered in the valance, the valance was removed making the final trim easy-peasy.

you know the drill, once started.....complete the mission.

:) Thanks.....but it was Butch's idea. He asked me if I had a hole saw and told me to get it done. Consists of two 4" oval to round adapters (Summit) and a Spectrum Fresh Air Cleaner (Amazon has the best deal around $140 to my door).

Butch and I bullshit on the phone almost every workday morning.... Butch in California on his 5 am (smoke) walk thru the park with his dog Buddy and me in Ohio during my 30 minute commute to the shop. Good thing you don't get to see all the stuff we discuss that let's just say....didn't make the main event. We are always laughing our asses off. I think I live thru his racing stories and he lives thru the building of his car. I cherish every friggin moment and consider myself damn fortunate!.... (as my old friend used to tell me)

Is Butch following your build of his car on FABO?

no....wish he did but he isn't very internet / tech savvy and at 78...doesn't care. He does look over his facebook page where I post every now and then. I text Butch updates / pics for his phone when something new happens.

Butch suggested the air scoops that will sit nicely behind the valance.

always open to all ideas to making it better....any thoughts out there?

Mirrored the silver Hemi Duster, except a MSD 6al box will be mounted on the front side of the left supplies box. Battery is in the box on the right. I called MSD and they suggested I up to 14 gauge wires for the coil and distributor harness to the engine compartment. If the MSD works out there, I might do the same on the ghost Missile.

I see you have a jack alongside the right-side battery box. Are you also carrying a spare tire?
If you are, then how involved is it to have to remove both battery boxes to get to the spare tire? Or do you have a sneaky trick for that?
I like the look of two battery boxes, but wondering about running them 90 degrees to how you have them in order to have more room between them. Battery in one and storage in the other is a good idea.
