Can someone help me identify this 727? The number on the side looks to be: PK3736145 4940 0717? I purchased this with a 360 that has an emission sticker of Feb 1975.

I plan to put it in my 73 Valiant down the road. I know that I will have to swap the tail housing and output shaft which is no problem as I will be tearing down the complete unit and rebuilding it. What I wanted to know is Other than the output shaft, housing and maybe the governor, is there anything else I may need to change?

That number comes up for '74-'75 318 or 360 powered D200/D300 truck.

They changed the spline angle on the output shaft to gear set in the mid seventies. Make sure you get the right one as they do not interchange. I’m not sure exactly when they did it, but I think around 75.

Actually you would NOT have to change anything......I've been told guys get a shaft made with a slip setup on/ in the shaft. Of course then it would be unique and more expensive, so you "might not" wanna..........

I've read that as well especially the spendy part. The one I got needs a tear down any way so I don't mind doing the swap.
