View attachment 1715200443 So a very talented friend of mine drew this rendition for me. It's a 1971 Dart convertible. It will have a 426 hemi, with a 4 speed and a shaker hood, Dana, 15" ralley wheels, black top, black paint, black interior, black carpet and a flat black bumblebee stripe. I have a donor convertible that will most likely never be restored as such because it is so far gone. All the "bones" are there to make this a viable project for me. I have an extra hemi block, transmission, lots of sheet metal, wheels, etc. The reason I chose '71 as that was the last year Mopar made a 426 convertible. What do you think?

Well now I am jealous!! Nice toys. I have been looking for the right 68 Dart for my Hemi but no luck.

Stalled on forward progress - lack of parts, or they are enroute. But it's coming together, still have a date in July I'm aiming for....

Gonna have to give them one ding up by the top of steering box, or put about a 1/8-3/16 shim on the motor mount, or I could take the box off and shave a bit off of it. But overall, really good fit. Love TTI's.

@ns1rm21 did the motor and trans measurement and placement in his Hemi Dart. Then let TTI borrow the whole car to create the first ones.

Hello. I would not ding the header. Your better off shimming the mount. Dings always look bad and there rarely are clean looking when done. If you go by the measurements on the TTI website they should fit like a glove.

Here is a picture of my 528 that is going in my Barracuda. Maybe you can blow up this photo and see what clearances I have with the engine sitting in the locations that are posted above.

Those were just my immediate thoughts. I will try and figure out why the headers are touching the steering box first. Like they say, a 1/4 inch in an A body Mopar is like a mile.

It's just sitting there but I couldn't resist seeing what it would look like. Still have much to do on the Sniper system, but it looks just like I thought it should.

I can't remember if it was the TTI site or the Borgeson site, but one of them mentions elongating the holes in the steering box to allow it to be moved away from the block to give more clearance. IIRC, the new hole goes to .81 inside.

Hemi baby got some new shoes and teeth! Carpet is in and door panels in place. Sniper is a little farther along. Tomorrow, install the factory AM/FM, seatbelts, and maybe the bucket seats.

Dauuuuum ! That shaker looks mighty fine, no matter which car's hood it's on but I think because my first car was a shaker car (70 E body V car,4 speed, electric windows all the goodies you can think of minus the 'vert top dictaphone and leather seats it was all there for that yr) A/C was not available on multi carb cars, (Hemi & 6bbl) I still feel if its not on a Cuda or Challenger it just did not belong.
But hey, it looks awesome,

Doesn't look a whole lot different, but the Sniper is in and operational, the interior is in and complete, exhaust is installed, and the to-do list is about a 1/4 a page, the big item being to install the top. I ended up not going with TTI's as I figured out a way to install factory manifolds, and it looks really great.

Awesome !!

Please post pictures of the stock manifolds in there. That's a really special extra touch.

Haven no major visible aftermarket parts puts it on another level. Might want to consider the stock radiator now.
