What food can you get at 1am in your area

-
Nothing. My town is shut at 9. A few bars til 2. Convenient stores close at 10.
Nearest 24 hour convenient store is 60 and 80 miles away.
I love livin in the sticks.

What ever is in the pantry, lol. Nothing here for food for nearly 20 miles in any direction. Closest thing is still 6 miles during the day.

That’s not a bad thing. I’d rather be in the sticks and have to drive for something than having that crap that close to me.

Same here,in the sticks. Nearest snack is a donut shop 35 miles away. Or cereal, in the cabinet.
Which i just snacked on.

This is why I laugh at the fake reality shows .
I want a HUGH kitchen so I can entertain friends and family.
But You DON'T cook. You eat out ,or use services like uber eats to have prepared food delivered.
If you want something good to eat when you come home. Do what generations before you have done . Make something . It's really not that hard.
Rant over.

I am usually never up that late I must be old...:)

I second cooking at home. You get to the point where its really good and affordable...:)

I remember when I thought all the good stuffed happened after midnight. Yeah, I was way wrong about that. If you live long enough you should learn you weren’t as smart in your 20’s as you thought you were. I know I wasn’t.

Where I grew up in LA...

Always crazy people late night at Oki Dog on Fairfax if you are looking to be entertained:

I was going to post Danny's Oki-Dog on Melrose - that's where everybody went after the punk shows 40+ years ago - $1.98 for an Oki-Dog (2 hot dogs, chili, cheese, onions, pastrami, done up as a burrito) and a Coke and open later than I ever wanted to stay

it moved from there to fairfax location

There is another Oki Dog on Pico in mid town just east of San Vicente Ave. That one has a bigger menu.

There isn't much here. I have a Carl's Jr. That's open 24 or Nachos from the 24 hr. Gas station.

There is a 24hr. 7/11 that has a better food selection but i wouldn't go in there because all the weirdos walking around and sitting in front of the place.

IHOP has not been 24 since covid started.

So it's a hungry night because I didn't eat much during the day.

What do you have available at 1 am in your area?
Right now, just gas station and truck stop light bulb warmer stuff. Everyone else is closed overnight including the McDonald’s(well of the 5 is open 24 hours, the rest are only open during meal time hours)

Oki dogs look like heart bombs! ha
When you're just barely of age, you don't think about such things...they were cheap, fast, and open! ;-)

(The downside, of course, being the old adage: cheap - fast - good Pick 2)

I put up a rant a few posts back.
Really though, if you don't want to cook real food, and you want something fast after work.
There are plenty of things you can buy that go from freezer to microwave , and done in under two minutes. .

Primanti’s… World Famous
Not sure of their hours now but originally they opened at 10pm for truck drivers delivering produce. Everything went on the sandwich( Cole slaw, fries ) so you could drive with one hand. They were open all night.
