There's one floatin around like that with a cat in place of the Westie.

When you are wrong, you are very wrong.
Size and speed matters for some jobs.

Exactly. Westies and Cairns are built for vermin assassination and are very good at that particular job. Small to be able to go into the burrows and with a strong prey drive. Awesome wee dogs.

@diymirage is certainly entitled to his opinion wrong as it is. :poke::poke:

After a while some start playing tug a rat.
Then they go all " I'm hungry. Screws this. Time for a snack"

My mother had two cairns both really loyal dogs with a no nonsense demeanour. Very good dogs. Would have one in a heart beat

there are only 2 dogs i ever see myself getting, the first is a boxer, we grew up with boxers and they are great dogs

the other would have to be a husky

both of which, i might add, grow well passed my knees

My neighbour across the road has a pure white boxer and he's deaf. My buddy has a sign system worked out with him. Great dog

We lost our rescue dog in November, after 14 years. We saved him from death row. He was 120 pounds, well above the knee. My wife sent in his DNA to an online company, and they verified what I knew all along. He was 1/4 timber wolf, and the rest was German Shepard and black lab. He loved my wife and our kids. We called him "The Enforcer". Nobody went near our family with him watching over the home. An aggressive homeless person found out the hard way, yet small children would pull his tail, and try to ride him like a pony. He just licked them and tolerated anything small children would do to him. We don't have the heart to get another dog yet. Maybe next year. RIP Rocky. God, we miss that dog.

Sorry for your loss. He sounds like a wonderful dog.

I'm trying to figure out how to add his picture to the site. I'm old ,too. I won't include the police report when he protected our home from a drug addict tried to break into our home. He woke us, and made the local police dog retreat. The local police were afraid for the safety of the K9. We called him off, and all was good.

Pretty much the way my security system works also. If dog doesn’t scare you off due to the high cost of ammunition do not expect a warning shot.
