Can you replace the spider gears and shaft without removing the unit from the housing on a 7 1/4 open differential?

Got the parts in today and figured it would be a good time to tackle this job since it is raining. Pulled the Axel's and the differential. Got the Spider gears removed and the new ones installed with a New shaft. Everything cleaned up and ready to put back together tomorrow. Had to pry the unit out. Hope it goes back in the housing without any trouble. Now if I could get the pinion nut off. The nut is right hand thread right?

I have never seen a case spreader for a 7 1/4 and didn't even know they existed or needed one until another thread on here in the last few days.

Never heard of anyone using a spreader tool for the 71/4 differential but Chrysler listed one. Miller tool c-3721. Dana's used a different spreader. 8 1/4,8 3/4 and 9 1/4 don't require one. If you would like to look at the miller c-3721, do a eBay search. Back in the day miller sold the tool for 63.75, of course it's been discontinued for many years.
