So, you've waited 9 - 10 weeks for your dash pad to arrive... You've spent $400 on it, including shipping... You get it out of the box and find some issues with it... My question, how picky are you going to be..? Do you ask for a partial refund..? Send it back a wait ANOTHER 9, 10, 11 weeks because, who knows how long it'll be..? What's your play..?

I mentioned this in a thread similar to your issue. Return it(I know, ez for me to say) but these mfg have to be held accountable. There is enough poor quality control and it's going to get even worse.
Good luck!

If it’s something you see every time you are in the car I would get another.. Better deal with it quickly if that’s the path you take..

What's better? To return it for something that fits.....OR.....stare at it every time you get in the car and wish you had returned it when you could have.

A picture for us with the "issues'' would be the best way to get a judgement call imo.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll send it, but

I just uploaded some pix..

Yeah @ 400.00 I would definitely return it.., that is some really bad quality control.
Can you post the vendor?

who did the work, again accountability...especially if they don't go above and beyond during the second experience... as always IMO

Along with those imperfections pictured ( and there are more ) there are dye or paint splatter spots throughout. I almost hate to mention the vendor because I still have a buttload of stuff on backorder with them lol.. but it's Classic Industries. Yeah, how they could let something like this pad to go out to a customer is unreal.

Sometimes, you kill more flies with honey than vinegar... I am sure they will work with you.

When I called them and was given my options, or actually, OPTION(return and wait again), cust service transferred me to a supervisor... I had to leave a message.. I explained in my voicemail that to me, the mark of a good company is how they deal with these issues, not necessarily the first sale, as "things can happen"..so I hope that can make this right.. We'll see.. and I hope they do because I can be extremely diligent and persistent when it comes to letting my experience be known.

ABC Moparts makes the best pads, but because of Covid he has 190 orders and no materials to make them! Ask yourself if you will ever get another...

I would ask for a partial re-fund and be done with it, from what I see it's not that bad once it's in place you may not see the defects.

Believe me...asking for a partial refund entered my mind, just because of the time it'll take to get another hoping it's better and worried it could be even worse..but cosmetically it would bug the **** out of me...for that kind of money especially..but just the principle of a major, reputable company sending out a **** quality product gets me worked up, if they don't offer an acceptable remedy. Also involved here...it's not only a cosmetic concern, the two ends on top that have the 1/4" long raised spots, I feel could be an issue with easy poke through or tearing ... Not acceptable.

Thanks for the pics. Classic is not the mfg, they are at best a reboxer and seller, that's it. Tell them you want another one ordered and you will return the 1st one(maybe) if 2nd one is received in perfect condition.

Definitely return it's a royal pain but doubtful on the partial return. It's to complicated when we get a different tech for every call and even if they give you a ext #you don't get the same person. They're good but they're dealing with a supplier.

If you don't say anything nothing will change. And we will all be stuck with junky repo parts.
Return in progress.. I've noticed, along with the long ship times and wait times just to get through, that the cust service is suffering as well.. Not necessarily on a personal level as they're all fairly nice, but their data system is lacking and not sure that can be blamed on COVID. I've been told a few times that my item(s) were in and will be shipped, only to have someone different tell me that info was wrong. Also, ETA on parts bounces all over the place and depends on who you talk to and what lengths they go to to track something down.. IDK, I guess I picked the wrong time to do my first project because it's taken away from some of the fun... Waited 10 weeks for my dash...now that I have to return I go to the bottom of the list.. Although, it appears they gave me a 10% discount for my trouble.

My 69' Cuda dash had a pretty significant split right in the middle. I toyed for a bit with the idea and ended up getting a dash cap from Dantes. For under half the cost I could not be happier with mine and it's hard to tell the difference.

is it an actual tear in the vinyl? it may work its way out once the sun hits it OR hit it with a heat gun and massage it out...

Not a tear...yet. Whatever it is, it's hard and I worry it'll cause a tear.. If I had to guess, it feels like a staple. Aside from the two "staples" there's pretty bad low spot right in the middle, top of dash..

Its a tough call, but for what the stuff costs...thing is these days people act like $500 isn't alot of money, it as if one should accept the inferior quality no matter what it cost . I had thought the platic Rally dash trim peices were pricey, but the farther along I get with my car its almost a necessity, as you get the interior together you want it to be right even if it is expensive. I feel your pain I must say.

I ordered the urethane version dash pad from a different company for $30 dallars less than vinyl covered not to save money but thought it would hold up better. It was terrible and not covered all the way over the front lip as factory ,so it looked like a plastic cover that was 3/8s to short .I dont understand why they didnt bring it over the edge like factory. The rest of the cover wrapped to factory locations and looked proper. Then the company told me I went for the cheaper of the two available and should not expect a restoration quality peice.I took a beating and had to cover the shipping $115 dollars to return it.
