Hi!

To get my Dart licensed here in Norway I need factory documentation that 1969 Darts were available with the 440 engine.
As the M code option was a mid year introduction it is not mentioned in any sales literature, ads or service manuals.
The GTS 440 cars could be ordered through any dealer so there must at least have been a memo going out to the dealers informing them about the option being available.
The fact that they have a specific letter for the engine in the VIN and 440 Four Barrel badges on the hood is of course proof in itself but I need factory documentation from Dodge mentioning the availability of the 440. They wouldn't sell many if no one knew of them..
Does anyone here have or know of anything like that?

How about a copy of the M-Code warranty disclaimer? I can find mine and take a picture of it.

That would be great!
I just got a copy of an original M code window sticker showing the 440 engine option.
Would still like to find something from Dodge informing dealers that the cars were available to order but everything helps :)

Here is a copy. I have the TSB from Dodge showing the 68 Dart GSS 440's that were built for Mr. Norm, but I don't have the TSB showing the 69's.

I also have a window sticker from a 69 GTS 440 car that was sold at Mr. Norms, I have had half a dozen of those cars but currently only have one at my shop that I sold to a friend. The problem with the window stickers most say "H" code then have the Y39 Special Order which does not say that means 440, but we all know it did.

Just after I ordered my 1968 cuda w/383, 4-sp, the owner of the dealership came to me with a letter that he had just gotten from the factory. It was announcing the available of the 426 Hemi in the Barracuda. Well, too late for me! Similar paperwork must be available for you. Be patient.

Absolutely. But I did get hold of a window sticker here for a car that says "M" code and has the following codes:
A13 DART SPECIAL 440
E86 440 CID ENGINE
Y39 SPECIAL ORDER
The closest I have come to factory documentation yet :)

Any pictures of the car? Thanks

Looked at Hamtramk Historical. They have a lot of TSBs including one dated May 1970 with a list of 1969 TSBs. No mention of the "M" code Dart.

I thought Mr. Norm actually did this late 68 Am I wrong?

I'm waiting for Alaskan TA to chime in. In my opinion, he's one of the sharpest guys with knowledge of fender tags/documentation.

Yup. The Hamtramk Historical site is his which is why I went there looking for documentation.
