I don't understand it either but you are correct!

I only wish I could buy the quality of even the cheap flashlights today when I was on active duty! Those 90° green junk lights with 2 "D" batteries and a small MAG light was the best available!

This is my go to. The clicker quit working due to battery leakage. Robbed another end off a junk one. Streamlight stylus pro.

Thinking the clip on magnet would work better. The magnets that come built into the flashlights are weak.
 
They look so worn out... I often buy flashlights for myself, but this is not due to the fact that they often break down
 
I have a bunch of mag lights, but their warrantee is crap, they want more to ship them back, than the light costs.
I have two that are junk status now, that were not that old, damn Duracell batteries leaked and ruined them.

I have since switched to everedy battery's and have had no issues.

I have also had good luck with the cheap harbor freight lights, their quantum series lights just plain work and are cheap.

Yep I will not use Duracell! Ruined more of my **** than I can count. Use Enerzier now and no problems.
 
Surefire and Streamlight if you want to spend the cash. My wife and I carry the Surefires. Had then for years and no issues.

Duracell. I had a lot of issues with Duracell's that came in Maglites. Their warranty doesn't cover damage caused by battery damage. Good luck collecting from Duracell. LOL

I sold Energizer's for about 30 years after dealing with Duracell damage.

I bought one for my kids camp week. He said it rocked! I'm gonna steal it back for my workbelt. Get some Enloop or Maha NiMH rechargeable AAA batteries for it, they last 3X longer in that was well as in digital cameras. I have a DSLR that takes 4 AA's and alkaline give me about 80 shots while NiMH give me ~300. Carbon zinc AA's give me about 20! As soon as you take a pic the battery indicator goes to 1/2! Only thing carbons are good for are low drain TV remotes nowadays.

I recently bought a 2 cell AAA mini mag LED after not having one for over 10 years. I used to carry them when I worked HVAC/R and through the time at the Motorola shop

I also used to have a dead nuts simple head strap......just an elastic you put around your head and stick the minimag into..... easy fast and effective for those dark corners
 
I use this one at work. Schumacher rechargeable lithium ion led work light. SL360. Has strong magnets, hooks and lasts for hours. The last thing I need is a bad light at 2-3 o’clock in the morning working at a cell site. You’re working on fiber or equipment, you better have something that works. My 2 cents. Craig
 
I got this 3 pack on sale at Costco for $19.95 about the size of a deep 3/4” socket.

i can keep one in car and charge with USB port. Swivel head and strong magnet is really handy. All aluminum, even the lens bezel. Way more light than my huge old 4 D-Cell Maglite.

I got this rechargeable shoplight for $39 on sale at Costco. The side pods side off, have their own battery, and have magnetic hinged base

I know what I've found through the years. The more features a flashlight has, the shittier it is. Even the so called "high end" ones. Lights with flex heads are the worst. They always loosen the contacts up over time and work half ***. Those little black "tactical" ones with the led bulbs are some of the ones I've had the best luck with. Like the ones hangin in auto parts stores.....not the dead cheapest ones, either.
 
Well, it all depends on what type of flashlight you need and where you want to use it. If simple for your household, well I recommend you to buy the simplest flashlight but to be qualitative. But if you are an amateur of travel, hunting or other adventures I propose you to cumoeri something professional and much stronger. Something like La Vont 4 Pack LED Camping Lantern. I have this kind of flashlight for hunting and I'm enormously pleased with it. All the more that I have it for many years and it has a very strong baerie, and of course the dazzling light that makes at night you see absolutely everything
