I’d like to ask if say a 68’ barracuda 383 engine/forward light harness or other a-body engine/light harness could be interchanged and used on my 67?

I tracked down the only 67’ 383 harness I could find that didn’t have a 3-4 week lead time -but haven’t received tracking or can get ahold of the person. Trying to find an alternative option.
Thanks in advance!

Maybe another '67 Barracuda harness.
Most of the difference in another '67 B will be wire length and whether the car was tach equipped.
It's not clear from the assembly drawings if there was a different harness for LA and B engined cars.
I'd check the parts book to be sure on that.

'68 is different enough that I would not go that route. You'ld have to move wires to their proper connector cavities and there may be other wiring differences but that would be the big thing. Also '68 tach wire goes through a grommet rather than make conenction in the bulkhead multiconnector.

Best bet might be to fix what you have, and then circle back to getting a replacement installed later.

For repair, depending on what is damaged, may need:
Open barrel crimpers and Chryser terminals, wire strippers. Sources for Chrysler type wire terminals
Splice connectors and shrink tubing. Inline wiring splice clips........from the Dodge RAM service manual
Deoxit and other cleaning supplies. What do y'all use to clean the metal connectors that go into the bulkhead on either side of the fw?
Adhesive free harness tape in couple widths. Vendor needed for cloth / fabric tape non adhesive type

The '67 service manual diagrams and the Assembly drawings (book from Faxon) will be helpful too. My review of Faxon book, 1967-1969 Dodge & Plymouth Body & Electrical Assembly Manual

I unfortunately can’t use what I have, previous owner had more Mickey mouses than a Disney cosplay convention. It isn’t an original 383 harness and I can’t find a 67 harness anywhere

See in the parrts book if the same p/n is used for the LA engine and whether the harness with tach option is different.
Then once you knowwhat was made, try a wanted ad.
This way when people ask if you can use a /6 or LA engine harness you'll know the answer.

As far as ECU wiring - that you'll have to add yourself.

As far as venders for new.
Year One sells M&H
Bill and Rose Evans make and sell their own.

I think that's about it.

I want to say that the slant 6 harness is the same as the big block but i’m just going off
my terrible memory.

In 67 there was only one harness, all engines, all options.

In 69 there were 3, /6 SB BB

I didn't check 68.

In 68 the horn relay was moved into the car so that may impact it.

Al. Are you sure?
My '67 HD Barracuda was orignal a 225. The original harness has no tach wire.
The wires reached everything when I installed a 340, but the routing was not all factory so I wsan't sure if its the same or maybe not.
The only thing I know for sure was different was the tach wire.

The assembly drawing lists the following p/n for 1967 engine compartment cable assemblies.

I interpret that as 2 different main harness for the Barracuda and two different tach wires that maybe were wrapped into the main harness when optioned?
When you get a repop from Year One/M&H as I did, the tach option is already wrapped in (whether you want it or not).

Key:
C/ = 1967 models
B = Barracuda
0 = All
1 = six
2 = v-8
- L, H, P = cost level ?

I’m a little confused because multiple companies have the option (albeit out of stock) of an engine / forward light harness combo with ECU?
