''I'm going to fix it up someday'' The resurrection of a '74 Dart Sport......

-
Years later and still one of my favorite threads. I hope the car is still being enjoyed as it should. :)
Thank you, Rani.
The car is put away for it's winter nap now, and I drive it quite a bit in the warmer months.
It is still dead reliable and has never broken down on me yet.
The paint is fading a bit for that ''patina'' look, but it still gets a lot of thumbs up.
Actually, the car is a blast to drive even if it is a bit slow when it comes to the low compression engine.
I'm not sure if I'll do anything more to it other than maintenance, or if I will upgrade the engine in the future, the jury is still out on that one, and I'm in no hurry anyway........
I am currently working on another project car build at the present that is taking my time these days, and I may start a build thread here on it, I haven't decided yet.........

Thank you to all of you who have supported me in this build, and all of the kind comments!

Glad to know you’re still around enjoying the car Tom.
Thank you for your comments and interest everyone.
(Hey N.A.R., for the life of me, I can't remember your name)

As a matter of fact, I drove the car around last night all evening and it ran perfectly and didn't over heat or anything.
That was in bumper to bumper traffic, as it is ''Street Machine Weekend'' here in Lethbridge.
I'll be cruising tonight as well.
Basically, all I do is some maintenance every year, and gas it up and go.
I store it in my shop in Cranbrook over the winter and trailer it to Lethbridge in the spring.

I have done a few upgrades to the car in the last few years, but nothing much.
I installed a tach, a 15/16'' manual aluminum master cylinder from Dr. Diff, and installed some home made sub frame connectors.
The paint has also faded a bit so it has a natural ''Patina'' look to it now.

Thanks for reminding me, Paul.
Yeah me too with the memory, my shoes have T.G.I.F. written on them.

Lol

Saw you out last night, I was in the Ventura Friday night and last night, Friday night traffic was really heavy, but it was fun as always. Getting the bad cylinder head ready to pull off the Dart, sure hope that cures what ails it.

Good thing with the Ventura is its so cheap to run, both nights of cruising for a few hours plus the poker derby and I burned less than a quarter of a tank of fuel. That won't happen in my Dart!

Yeah, I saw you out too, Randy.
You're right about the gas!
I burned about 50 bucks worth in my car this weekend driving it around for about 4 hours total.
I'll have to give you a call and come over one of these days.
Sad to hear about the cylinder head problem.
