Just bought an unbelievably nice 65 Barracuda with a slant 6 and 3 on the tree. Drove it home 4 hours in 100+ degree heat and had zero issues. Love the slant 6 and this car. Been around cars my whole life (3 generations of mechanics) even though I am a computer nerd, I grew up in my grandfathers and fathers autoshops from the time I could walk until I graduated HS.

Going to tinker and do little things with this car, but mostly drive and enjoy it.

Car and I are just outside of Salem Oregon. I plan on keeping it as it is. I have fast cars, I wanted a classic cruiser. Will do a few small things like change ignition to solid state from points, etc. but plan is to drive it a good bit. Its been driven very little the last 20 years (like 4700 miles in 21 years), but recently refreshed with all things that normally would leave you stranded (belts, hoses, shocks, water pump, plugs, points, wires, tires, etc) - Excited to cruise around the next couple months in good weather with the windows down...ha

Instead of having to lift the distributor out you could probably just put some patronics in there and keep it simple..
